Pelosi Attacked For Saying CIA Lies By Republicans Who’ve Said CIA Lies
John Boehner, the House minority leader, is incredulous that the CIA would lie to a Member of Congress.
“I’ve dealt with our intelligence professionals for the last three-and-a-half years on an almost daily basis, and it’s hard for me to imagine that our intelligence area would ever mislead a member of Congress.”
But when Republicans didn’t like the 2007 National Intelligence Estimate, Boehner had a different response.
“Either I don’t have confidence in what they told me several months ago or I don’t have confidence in what they’re telling me today.”
HuffPost has a couple of other examples of the CIA’s lack of familiarity with the truth:
–In 2004, the CIA had to acknowledge that they “did not provide the United Nations with information about 21 of the 105 sites in Iraq singled out by American intelligence before the war as the most highly suspected of housing illicit weapons.”
–In 2008, then ranking member of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Pete Hoekstra — who has Pelosi under fire today — himself “called for a criminal investigation into whether the CIA lied to Congress and withheld information from the Justice Department during its inquiry into the 2001 shoot-down of an American missionary plane by the Peruvian air force with help from a CIA counternarcotics spotter plane.”
And Republican Senator Kid Bond of Missouri said, “”That’s really unfortunate to trash our intelligence community as she’s done.” Pelosi accuses the CIA of lying and DC explodes. Where was the outrage when Republicans did it? Bond acts outraged that a Member of Congress would accuse the CIA of lying, in spite of its history of doing so to members of his own party.

Frankly, politicians lie. The only politicians that don’t have lying and misrepresentation of facts down to a fine art are the ones on the fringes of the political spectrum, who have nothing to lose by actually being honest.
I guess its our (the voters) fault for expecting politicians to be infallible when they are merely human beings like the rest of us.

Kit Bond…? Funny how he stays out of sight & out of mind until the Party has a mud slinging role for him. Most people in Missouri don’t have a clue what he does with the rest of his time even though he’s held his seat for eons. In this case, he truly reveals nothing useful or credible. If it wasn’t for simple name recognition & the good old boys club in Washington/Jeff City he’d have been out the door years ago.

There’s a huge difference between saying there should be an investigation into missing information or that you don’t have confidence in what your being briefed to “They lied to me.” Wouldn’t you say?
Show me a quote where a some else has said “The CIA lied to Congress.”

Pelosi never said the CIA lied to her. She said ‘mislead’ and that’s entirely possible.
This all comes down to who do you trust. I don’t trust the CIA. They are torturers and some of them are criminals. Between them and Pelosi … she is telling the truth.

Pelosi – “Yes.”

Considering you advocate torture, war and killing of innocent people, of course you’d find fault with Pelosi and not with the Dick Cheney.
The Dick already admitted to authorizing the use of torture, so what does it matter if Pelosi knew something? The Dick does whatever he wants. If Pelosi would have said something when she was first informed, Cneney would have had her shot of treason. Too bad for you this scenario didn’t occur. You’d love to have a front row seat at her execution (since you love that kind of stuff).

I believe there is a section in the CIA for, ” Misinformation”. Deliberate distortion to influence, manipulate and control certain scenarios. It’s not lying, it’s control of facts and the omission of other facts.
I have to include the thought that politicians do the same thing.

So … Republicans are torturers not Pelosi. Whoever lied is nice and quaint to figure out but it seems to me that someone must pay this toll with jail time and that sure isn’t Pelosi. Perhaps a conservative push to put Cheney in jail would make sense but this crap is just partisan baloney and a waste of our time.

Pelosi is under the microscope because she said she had no knowledge these EITs were being used.
It has since been discovered that she was at mulitiple briefings where the CIA stated the EITs being used.
She said the CIA didn’t specifically brief her on waterboarding techniques.
CIA says she was briefed on ALL EITs.
Pelosi then says she was briefed on EITs, but that she didn’t know waterboarding was being used.
How much more evidence do you want to finally admit she is a liar?
