On Friday’s Radio Show…
Guest host Ellis Henican fills in for Alan.
Guest host Ellis Henican fills in for Alan.
A sportscaster doing a more laid-back second gig, I should have qualified. Also, I noted while listening to this show that Henican’s quieter, less confrontational style can draw out some callers to talk more about the experiences that shaped their points of view, especially during the segment concerning the rights of adults to refuse chemotherapy treatment for their children. Henican showed empathy even while arguing an opposing side with callers concerning a very painful subject.
I like Henican’s radio personality. His vocal delivery is like a sportcaster more than a talk radio host.
Doesn’t really bother me, though, and I find him entertaining. Sometimes I wish he’d get as fiesty with the callers as Alan does, because some of them need that treatment, IMO.
He is pretty hard on the ol’ ears…. his voice is a combination of the sound of fingernails being dragged across a chalkboard and that of a tom cat wailing….
You know, we could have a new enhanced interrogation technique that would be as equally effective as waterboarding in promoting the cooperation of terrorist suspects……..
I would call it…….Henicaning……..
We could Henicane the suspects for information…….
Have a satisfying rest, Willy.
I can’t stand Ellis Henican’s voice….anybody with me?

He hasn’t been hurt, yet. But time is running out. So if you ever want to see him alive again…Oh wait a minute, I better issue my ultimatum to someone else.

Nothing against Ellis, but where’s Jay been?
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:06 pm
I was thinking how bad Jay would rip apart some of these pro-torture nuts.
Ellis is great. Got to the nicest guy in history…
Jay has that … uh … edge.
