  1. Frankly, I think that what is happening in Iran right now is huge.

We have an aquaintance who goes there, and said that the young people are done with the clergy.

Someone wrote today, that the ayatollahs would do well to remember the Shah, because THEY are now in the same reactionary position.

  2. It’s the young lions versus the old guard all over again, and the evangelicals should take careful notes.

  3. I ate some animal flesh today, and I’m damn proud of it.

Don’t go overboard with this “thinking” stuff. You might hurt yourself.

  4. Yes , Dick Cheney wants the USA defense’s policies of
    Obama to fail.

So he does want an attack on US soil.
And besides, most of the professionals that defend this
country now, are the same when Dick was VP: FBI,CIA,ARMY, NAVY ect….

So Dick is talking down the brave men and women of USA,not just Obama.
And he should have a retraction, as ofen demanded by the right nuts.

Lord help us if we do get attacked; Obama wouldnt know what to do. Of course he might get up there and campaign like he usually does; or maybe take a flight to Saudi Arabia to talk to his elders about what he should do.

Oh you mean like the great job Bush/Cheney did after 9/11? I think Obama is smart enough to know that, if we’re attacked, we should go after the perpetrators and NOT INVADE THE WRONG COUNTRY!

    Rocky the Liberal Rottweiler Reply:

“…Obama wouldnt know what to do…”

Obviously Bush didn’t know what to do, since he sat around in a kindergarden class for going on fifteen minutes after the second tower got hit.

Good job, Brownie. The first of many.

  5. Colmes is certainly “popular” with the wingnut “I wanna punch yer lites out” crowd.

    What’s up with that?

I guess it’s good for the ratings but really … it must be the holdover audience from Bill O’Reilly.

  6. PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk made an excellent appearance on the program.

I did a “Meat-less Monday” myself and generally advocate awareness and little changes over going to the local PETA rallies. I’ve been mistaken for one of these so-called “PETA-Nuts” before but I’m here to interject a very different perspective than many of my peers:

If the demand dries the supply will do the same.

It’s the standard change-starts-at-home argument from me. We, as a nation, cannot just throw away industry and business and at the same time must recognize the issues that Ingrid Newkirk speaks of.

Okay — you spent like the whole show talking about David Letterman versus Sara Palin when if you ask me the REAL story going on is Leon Panetta versus Richard Cheney. But whatever…

I’m gonna do a Flesh Friday where I eat lots and lots of meat to compensate for your Monday.

I actually respect the work of PETA to a degree, but I think they’re a little wacko.

You can bet whatever I eat had parents.

  7. I had a meat only Sunday…just to spite PETA.

but I’ll agree with you Eric I’d of rather talked about Leon Panetta than about Sarah Palin…again.

I really don’t understand people like you.

I myself have no desire to come in and change your life around nor close down local businesses in your area.

But you allow yourself the fine pleasure of hating PETA and all those directly associated with them. Why?

Because the radio told you to? Because some moron associated with PETA did something stupid, once?

    It makes no sense.

If you had a heart, loved Jesus, or were a human being of any sort … you wouldn’t joke around about animal cruelty and you wouldn’t try to ’spite’ PETA.

You might give them a little money.

    If you had a heart…

Loved Jesus? Why do you keep injecting religion into your arguments, EricG?

If you looked at science, you’d see that we’re at the top of the food chain. Why the hell should we combat evolution? Why should we care for our fellow creatures other than to eat them? What’s amazing about PETA is that if you look at a purely scientific perspective, PETA is generally wrong. Look at the Serengeti. Pretty harsh conditions, and we’re just animals.

If you look at it from a Christian perspective, Christ didn’t say anything bad against fishing. We have dominion over animals.

I love animals, and I think cruelty or harsh treatment of them should be prosecuted. But they are, to some extent, a resource that should be used.

wow…I missed the part where I said beat the dogs and cut the heads off of kittens…let me check my post again.

I was simply making fun of PETA and their vegan sympathies.

Other than my unapologetic stance of hating dogs, I have no ill will towards animals and do not think they should abused, and that goes for dogs as well.

I don’t feel bad for animals that are humanely slaughtered, butchered, seasoned and cooked to perfection though.

  8. Leon Panetta’s comment about Dick Cheney was out of line. And he didn’t even lay out the evidence to back up that outrageous statement.

    EricG Reply:

Panetta – “It’s almost, a little bit, gallows politics. When you read behind it, it’s almost as if he’s wishing this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point. I think that’s dangerous politics.”

I think you should check yourself, daddio.

These war-mongering Republicans like Dick Cheney have proven to this nation that they don’t stand for anything resembling American Ideals and when someone speaks the truth like Panetta did it seems every conservative alive makes it their duty to reject reality and create a ‘demon-of-the-day.’

Panetta knows of what he speaks.

Cheney has put this nation in jeopardy with dangerous and unamerican politics. Let no patriot stand with Cheney and torture policy formed under communist regimes.

  9. http://ericlightborn.wordpress.com/2009/06/15/panetta-versus-cheney/

    No, he really wasn’t Daddio.

You have to actually read the news instead of hearing the reactionary BS spread around by FOX-talkers and radio-pundits.
