Why Is David Letterman Held To A Different Standard?
We’ve already seen that when Jay Leno told a similar joke to David Letterman’s it was virtually ignored. And why didn’t this skit get the level of attention that David Letterman’s joke did? On “Saturday Night Live” last September, the premise was that New York Times reporters were trying to find out of Todd Palin was having sex with his daughters. Of course, the joke was aimed at the Times, but the level of outrage doesn’t come close to the Letterman flap.
“What about the husband?” asked a Times reporter during a mock assignment meeting for the paper. “You know he’s doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It’s Alaska.”
The assignment editor for the Times, portrayed by actor James Franco, responded: “He very well could be. Admittedly, there is no evidence of that, but on the other hand, there is no convincing evidence to the contrary. And these are just some of the lingering questions about Governor Palin.”
CNN’s “Showbiz Tonight” covered the controversy at the time.
alan, littleman is not held to a higher standard – it appears simply to be the luck of the draw on mean-spirited low brow jokes about people not even involved in the political process. However, it is heartening to know that you comprehend what a double standard IS and so I will expect you to decry them when they are applied to conservatives…

There is no evidence refuting the possibility that Palin is leading a secret cabal from within the hardcore evangelical conservative movement to overthrow the government and install a totalitarian white supremacist “Christian” regime.

Well, this whole thing is a media-stunt to bring Palin back into the news.
Why?
Because little by little everyday American people are waking up to the lies and hatred all around them called Republicanism.
But if the Republican-Demons can keep up the hatred machine and keep demanding fascist firings and screaming about nothing into radio call-ins … then nobody can figure out who the real piece of trash Americans are in all the commotion.
It’s ‘bait and switch.’
