How Often Do you Find Out Something You Think You Should Have known?

For example, I did not know this until just now.

  1. Looks like one of them will be out of a job soon.
    Another opening for a Democrat.

  2. He was too drunk to consume the act that night.
    The butler helped him out.

  3. I’m sure they’ll maintain seperate residences so they can keep their jobs.

Is there some sort of rule against this ?

I am not aware of any.

the only constitutional rules is that you have to be 25 and reside in your district..however residency is pretty lenient. MY congressman has an address in my district, but also has residencies in Seattle Metro/Spokane metro and Washington DC…I saw a report and he spent less than a month in the district in a typical year, usually for campaigning purposes, he runs his campaign out of Seattle though.

See Hilary Clinton, she basically cherry picked which state she wanted to be senator of, then I think she rented a residence after the election or during the campaign or some sort of shenanigan like that.

    I wish them well.

    Love is a good thing.

  4. I don’t see how I could have known this, and I don’t think that I should have known this. And I’m not actually sure which part of “this” is the part I should have known. That she’s older than him? That they’re both related to famous people? That one’s divorced and the other’s widowed? That they appeared to have gotten married before a scandal could erupt involving one or both of their former spouses, at least one of whom is already dead?

    I mean, Alan, I just don’t know.

So … you’re saying their love isn’t real!?!

    Say it ain’t so!!!

  5. Heartfelt Rocky and this is hard 4 me 2 say, but

    ALAN, is this NEWZ?

    EricG Reply:

    Define “News” ….

Because almost everything that happens is news. The question is how much do you care.

  6. It won’t matter for long….SHE is going to out of a job soon. There is already movement is CA for recalling her.

  7. I think Alan’s point is that this type of stuff usually makes a big splash in the news, but it happened way back in 2007 and he had never heard it.

    Hey, Um Cara,

This is off the subject, but I thought you might be interested:

    Neocons Bemoan USA Soccer Victory

Gary Schmitt, formerly of the Project for a New American Century, has a bizarre post up at an AEI blog in which he laments the fact that the United States upset Spain in the Confederation Cup, then further laments the fact that soccer exhibits a high degree of competitive balance, then explains that Americans don’t like soccer because its high degree of competitive balance cuts against American-style capitalism, then explains that soccer is popular in the US and Europe because it’s so socialistic.

    Um Cara Reply:

    LOL! That’s pretty funny.

IMO, the reason soccer is not a popular (to watch, it is very popular to play) in the US is that there are no commercial breaks in the game, so no one is interested in marketing it.

    OldLefty Reply:

    I agree about the marketing.

Many say also that it’s because of the low scoring, but I think that makes it really exciting….it’s really hard to get a goal.

    GuidoVanHorn Reply:

no commercials makes it great to watch though…probably the only thing I like about Soccer over Football (err Futebol over Football) being able to watch a game without 600 beer commercials. The NFL kills me, they go to commercial after a TD, after the extra point, AND after the ensuing kickoff (is it possible to use the word ensuing without following it with kickoff) AND have mandatory hard commercial breaks in the middle of action.

  8. What a shame we can’t have a Democrat and a Republican getting married under such a circumstance.

That would be a bipartisan household.

    Um Cara Reply:

What circumstance? There are tons of Democrats and Republicans who are married to each other.

Political affiliation really doesn’t mean all that much in the scheme of things.

Especially considering there is very little difference between Demubilcans and Republicrats.

    Budda Reply:

Oh, there are differences all right, but they both do have their own faults.

  9. I did not know this until just now…

Why do they lock gas station bathrooms?
Are they afraid someone will clean them?
