Since they’re totally embarrassed by the obvious connection to elements of what they’ve been preaching, the echo chamber on the right has been simultaneously shouting about how James von Brunn, the suspect in the Holocaust Museum shootings, is left wing.  Someone from the Ayn Rand institute insisted that because he’s racist, he must be on the left.  Rush Limbaugh proclaimed, that von Brunn “has more in common with the marchers and protesters we see at left-wing rallies.” Red State’s Erick Erickson tweeted, “…like left wing bloggers, hates Bush, Israel, the war, Christians, capitalism. Dave Does The Right Thing

But where is the gracious acceptance by Palin of his apology for what he said?  Of course, Dave apologized in his trademark humorous style, and added this serious statement.

“I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl,” he said, dropping his signature sarcasm. “I don’t think it’s funny. I would never think it was funny.”

The daughter jokes were obviously aimed at the older one, Bristol, but it was 14-year-old Willow who accompanied her mother to New York, hence the confusion.  Here’s the video:

Right Wing Site Selling “Liberal Hunting Sticker”

Can you imagine the outcry if, in the wake of left-wing lunatics shooting people in a series of incidents, a liberal web site were to promote stickers denoting the shooting of conservatives?  It would be all over every talk show.  Thanks to Mike Finnigan, I saw that the Patriot Shop is selling a “Liberal Hunting Sticker.”  And don’t forget the “No Bag Limit” and “Tagging Not Required” features.

DHS Report Was Correct, In Spite Of Right-Wing Objections

Looks like the Department of Homeland Security report that was disparaged by the right wing was on to something.  Conservatives were outraged that right wing extremists and particularly military veterans and those with anti-abortion and anti-immigration views were the focus of the report.

Of course, the first thing certain conservatives asked after the shooting at the Holocaust Museum was whether the shooter was Muslim.  The white supremacists at Stormfront hoped it was a Muslim.  But James W. von Brunn is the white founder of a website (now offline, it appears) called Holy Western Empire.

USA Pageant To Carrie Prejean: “You’re Fired!”

Carrie Prejean, Miss California USA, was fired for breach of contract.

“This was a business decision, based solely on contract violations,” Keith Lewis, executive director of K2 Productions, said in the documents. “After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.”

Palin’s Top Two List About Letterman: “Disgusting” And “Pathetic”

Sarah Palin is calling some of David Letterman’s jokes “disgusting” and “pathetic.”

Letterman joked Monday night that during the seventh inning of the Yankees game “her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”

Letterman followed up on the line Tuesday night, joking that “the toughest part of her visit was keeping [former New York Gov.] Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter.”

Letterman also did a “Top Ten List” of things Palin did in New York. One of them was “bought makeup at Bloomingdale’s to update her ‘slutty flight attendant look.’”  Palin reacted to that with radio host John Ziegler.…

Republicans Don’t Know Who Speaks For Them

A 52% majority couldn’t come up with a name when asked who mainly speaks for them.

Of those who could, the top response was radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh (13%), followed in order by former vice president Dick Cheney, Arizona Sen. John McCain and former House speaker Newt Gingrich. Former president George W. Bush ranked fifth, at 3%.

All the names are men, all white, all conservative, and all qualify for AARP membership. And the only one of the bunch who holds elective office is John McCain.
