Jenny Sanford Still Willing To Forgive
Mother Theresa, move over. Even after her husband said he “crossed the line” with other women, after he said that his mistress was his soul mate and he’d “try to fall back in love” with his wife, Jenny Sanford says she’s willing to forgive. The First Lady of South Carolina issued a statement, some of which reads:
I am willing to forgive Mark for his actions. We have been deeply disappointed in and even angry at Mark. The Bible says, “In your anger do not sin.” (Psalm 4:4) In this situation, this speaks to the essence of forgiveness and the critical need to channel one’s energy into positive steps that uphold the dignity of marriage and the family, and lead to reconciliation over time. My forgiveness is essential for us both to move on with our lives, with peace, in whatever direction that may take us.
[...]
…his far more egregious offenses were committed against God, the institutions of marriage and family, our boys and me. Mark has stated that his intent and determination is to save our marriage, and to make amends to the people of South Carolina. I hope he can make good on those intentions, and for the sake of our boys I leave the door open to it.
But what tune is the governor singing?

I know this is a big story, but I don’t need minute to minute updates on Mark Sanford’s marriage. Now if he’s going to get impeached or resign fill me in, but this stuff to me is private.

Ok, shes starting to look like a martyr. Must be the Liz Edwards syndrome–she doesnt want to leave the big house and standard of living.

I realize this maybe hard for you to understand, SUZANNE, but maybe she really loves her family and wants to keep it together. This is none of our business, ALan.

So … Deb …
Do you ever contact Bill O’Reilly in regards to the fact that he invades people’s privacy and is pretty much a TV poparazi and slaner-artist?
Or do you only give a care when Alan Colmes does it?

Another stupid comment, ERICG

Deb, insulting Eric isnt going to help your case. Secondly, did it ever occur to you that this pair deserve each other? People in the political realm tend to have flexible morals and questionable character to begin with. Stop being so naieve.

“This is none of our business, ALan.”
This is a stupid comment. This I why I hit reply.
Because that guy … works for FOX. And everything in the world seems to FOX’s businesses in their except for Republican dirty laundry.
What’s ‘fair and balanced’ about that?
If it wasn’t for Alan a few other employees they might have to face the fact that they are the most biased network in HUMAN HISTORY! That’s all…

“My forgiveness is essential for us both to move on with our lives, with peace, in whatever direction that may take us.”
Hillary Clinton did the religous and moral thing in regards to her husband’s infidelity and the right wing bashed for it. Now let’s see them bash Jenny Sanford, like real people who not just full of chit and make noise all day of nothing but lies.

I might have missed it, but I don’t remember any bashing of Hillary for staying with him. I remember a lot of speculation and dumb s*** being said, much like what’s going on now with Sanford.
It’s perfectly possible I missed the bashing, I wasn’t really into political tv/radio shows at the time, but I don’t remember it.

Thanks Alan,
I am hanging on every word as I was on the blue dress and tehm Cigarz, you just can’t make this stuff up.
I’m betting Jenny knows for sure that their thrill is gone AND as long as she has the high ground and Marcus by the short hairs she is going to work it. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

I feel that whether or not to be willing to put effort into repairing a marriage after infidelity is entirely that couple’s private decision and shouldn’t be criticized or judged.
I think it’s easy to say what you’d do if you were never faced with dealing with a situation of infidelity. I’ve never had to face that – my gut tells me I would kick my husband’s butt out the door, but it’s hard to say for sure when you’ve never been faced with such an issue.
Just as I never judged Hillary Clinton or Elizabeth Edwards for their decisions, I won’t judge Jenny Sanford either.

Danielle,
I am in total agreement with you. No one knows what they would do in such a situation. I think it depends on how deep your love is for your spouse and how your faith is.
I never judged Hillary then and I will not judge Jenny now.
Let them figure this out in the privacy of their own lives.
Alan, you need to leave them alone now so they can figure out their lives and where they want to go from here. It is none of your business nor is it ours.

Danielle,
I agree.
Willio,
The situation is what it is for those in the public eye.
A governor/president/member of congress, has chosen a life in the public eye.
It can certainly be argued that, one’s constituency has a right to know certain things.
For me, hypocracy is one of those things.
Pretty important to know in a possible presidential candidate, whether or not they are hypocritical.
Unfortunately for Jenny, she is married to the man.
How they deal with this is personal, however……

Ditto Daddio, average james and Danielle. Having a high profile job your staffers have to be on the ball and Sanford,s staff did a lousy job.
