He paid his debt to society, and today Michael Vick becomes free to pursue his career again.

Freedom will allow Vick to step up his efforts to resume his pro football career. Vick hopes to soon meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who has said he would review Vick’s status after Vick completed his sentence.

Goodell has said he wants to sit down with Vick, but it’s unclear when that face-to-face meeting will take place.

US Soldier Held By Taliban Identified

Pfc. Bowe R. Bergdahl, 23, of Ketchum, ID, is seen in an online video saying he’s “scared I won’t be able to go home.”

Atwater, CA councilman Gary Frago continues the trend of using racial comments and imagery to criticize the president.  Think Progress has links to a slew of examples of such unconsciousness. The Merced Sun-Star obtained 7 e-mails sent between October 2008 and February 2009 to city workers and other prominent citizens racially deriding President Obama, the First Lady and blacks in general.
