On Monday’s Radio Show…

August 31st, 2009, 6:00 PM EDT

• Why did the Bush adminstration want the terror alert level raised before the 2004 presidential election, even though then-Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge disagreed? Alan sits down with Ridge, whose new book is The Test of Our Times.

• Conservative activist Gerry Donaldson defends his desire to secede from the Union if the federal government does not “fall back in line with the Constitution.”

How far will they go? Alan examines the latest troubling words of Obama-haters.

  1. Donaldson: go ahead and secede! Take Texas with you!!! JUST GET THE HELL OFF MY TV AND RADIO SO WE DON’T HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOU BITCHIN’ ABOUT IT ANY MORE!!!!!!!!

  2. Libre de Texas desde Washington!!!

(Y devolverlo a la ciudad de México, mis amigos.)

  3. Donaldson is wrong.

He’s only reading into the Constitution what he wants to see in it while whining that others are reading into the document things that aren’t in the Constitution because Donaldson isn’t “reading” them.

    Get it?

You can’t reason with these people.

Donaldson’s bio: “First and foremost, Gerry Donaldson is a political activist concerned with restoring the principles, values, morals and ethics America’s founding fathers intended. Gerry is a Constitutional, Common Law, and Biblical Law Scholar.”

What’s a “Biblical Law” scholar? What’s his end game? Theocracy? Is Donaldson a Texas Baptist? Whoa …

  4. “Them swine flu vaxcines are the gubmint plannin’ to inject us all wit’ dem RFID chips and mark us wit’ da mark o’ da beast like da good Book say”.

“Then, da gubmint gonna take our guns away”.

“Then, they gonna roun’ us all up and put us in them FEMA death camps they been buildin’ everywhere.”

“But, they iz gonna be okay down thar in Texas wit’ Gerry Donaldson ‘cuz da Baptists will put a new gubmint in Austin and they’ll keep that darkie Obami in DC whar he belongs.”

  5. Is lonely here tonight.

  6. I just had a thought … Donaldson and his tea-bagger friends are Luddites.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luddite

“The Luddites were a social movement of British textile artisans in the early nineteenth century who protested—often by destroying mechanized looms—against the changes produced by the Industrial Revolution, which they felt were leaving them without work and changing their entire way of life.”

Gerry is organizing against what he sees as the changing of his entire way of life.

  7. I’m glad you had a thought!

How did you happen upon the Luddites? I’m impressed. I’ve studies them, well not personally, just in my readings of the Industrial Revolution:) This was a time that saw massive new innovations and with it came much human turmoil.(think planes, trains and automobiles)People then were also afraid of change, much like our present day situations. We as a species can’t escape our own man-made technologies and forge ahead we must. And this is exactly how it started,my friend… the forging of steel.

    Well said, Jaz.

In my view we will say the same thing in ages yet to come about this time we live in now.

The creation of the personal computer and the internal processor will mark the next stage in human development.

From here it’s all about if we can avoid blowing ourselves off this globe or move forward as a people.

I like to think of myself as an optimist, so in that way, I have faith in mankind. Not faith in God,as much as faith, in ourselves. One can make an analogy between a good mother and child.

We may one day see ourselves teetering on the Edge of our own greedy destruction, but I really don’t think we will come to that(just close). I believe we have the fortitude and the desire not to eradicate mankind. We have always lived and survived other atrocious and we will again.

We need to unite ALL people in UHC not just in the states, but world wide. We have, not only the technologies in health care, but an abundance of food.

It’s unfortunate that religion/politics is such a dirty game.
