GOP Claims Obama Admin Put Out “Death Book” Encouraging Veterans To Commit Suicide

The right is now accusing the White House of sending veterans a “hurry up and die message.” Of course, it’s not true.  It’s because of a manual the VA put out called “Your Life, Your Choices.”  The problem with this story is that the manual was put out during the Bush administration. The White House has quickly rebutted this meme:

Dick Cheney’s claims that released CIA documents would prove that BushCo’s harsh interrogation techniques kept America safe were reiterated to the Weekly Standard.

The documents released Monday clearly demonstrate that the individuals subjected to Enhanced Interrogation Techniques provided the bulk of intelligence we gained about al Qaeda. Chuck Grassley Constituent: “I’d Take A Gun To Washington” If You Join Me

At a Senator Chuck Grassley’s Pocahontas, Iowa, town meeting tempers flared.

“The president of the United States, that’s who you should be concerned about. Because he’s acting like a little Hitler,” said Tom Eisenhower, a World War II veteran. “I’d take a gun to Washington if enough of you would go with me.”

Pastor Steven L. Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona says he hates President Obama and is praying for him to die.

At 6:10 into the below video: “I hate Barack Obama.” God hates him, too, says this “man of God.” It’s reminiscent of pastor and former Southern Baptist Convention official Wiley Drake, who told me he practices imprecatory prayer also asking for the death of the president.

AG Holder To Name Prosecutor To Investigate Torture Allegations

Eric Holder is about to name John Durham (right), a Connecticut Justice Department prosecutor, to look approximately a dozen cases where anti-torture laws may have been violated.

Durham’s mandate, the sources added, will be relatively narrow: to look at whether there is enough evidence to launch a full-scale criminal investigation of current and former CIA personnel who may have broken the law in their dealings with detainees. Many of the harshest CIA interrogation techniques have not been employed against terrorism suspects for four years or more.
