  1. “On Monday’s Radio Show…”
That should be, “On Tuesday’s Radio Show…”

    Joel Reply:

My bad – I just realized that! It feels like a Monday around here.

    libpatriot Reply:

Completely understandable, Joel, I’ve had that same feeling all day, lol!

    libpatriot Reply:

OK, never mind, you fixed it already w/i two clicks on my mouse…wow, I’m impressed, that was efficient!

  2. David Horowitz? freakin nutball

    libpatriot Reply:

Those kind of folks can make for entertaining interviews, though.

    libpatriot Reply:

Contrary to Horowitz, President Obama is NOT cutting Medicare.

    goliath43 Reply:

How do you know what he’s going to cut we don’t have a passed bill yet.

    OldLefty Reply:

Why would anyone think he would cut medicare?

That would be like saying Bush was going to cut the CIA when he created DHS.

    libpatriot Reply:

A Democratic president cutting a program fought for by Dems, beloved by Dems, and despised by the likes of Ronald Reagan when it was first enacted—THAT defies logic.

    EricG Reply:

“Contrary to Horowitz, President Obama is NOT cutting Medicare.”

    Did Horowitz lie!?!

    I’m shocked!

I thought that he was *snicker* reputable and *snicker* trustworthy!

I feel so disillusioned! Next your going to tell me that Hannity, Ingram and Beck are making things up to make their side look better and the other look worse!!!

    libpatriot Reply:

I didn’t really think this would surprise you Eric, but it’s news to many teabaggers.

  3. Glenn Beck beats Sean Hannity by being the first to
    derail a “Black Man”.

  4. I used to live in Illinois. It’s a state where “the trains run on time”.

I don’t know how much of that Governor Rod is responsible for but we could have done worse for a governor. Actually, we did do worse than Blogo with George Ryan.

Jim Edgar and Jim Thompson left big shoes for their Illinois governorship successors to fill. Both of those gentlemen were class acts and hard to follow. It’s a shame Blogo and Ryan have dirtied up the national image of Illinois politics when it wasn’t always that way.

    libpatriot Reply:

Blagojevich has been a tempting target for me to mock here and elsewhere, with me usually saying he needs to do us Dems a favor and become a Republican, but I think I’m giving him a break from now on. Let his legal situation run its course, and after that let bygones be bygones. But let’s not run him for any office higher than dogcatcher ever, ever, again.

    TDro319 Reply:

Say what you will about Blago, but at least he wasn’t responsible for any deaths.

    From the NPR:
“CORLEY: Those victims, said Collins, included the public, people who were trying to conduct honest business with the state, and even more so six children who died in a fiery car crash more than ten years ago. The government’s probe began after investigators found a truck driver involved in the crash had obtained his driver’s license illegally by paying a bribe to workers in the secretary of state’s office, which Ryan headed at the time.”

    Lib Patriot Reply:

Granted, Blago hasn’t gotten anybody killed by his decisions.

    libpatriot Reply:

Rod Blagojevich has no blood on his hands whatsoever, but he MIGHT have money ink on them.

  5. Alan points out that the right wing likes to usee use tactics by Sal (or is it Saul?) Alinsky: isolate somebody, demonize them, focus on them, etc.
Alan: “These Alinsky methods are not indigenous to the left.”
If the above describes Alinksy’s strategy, I should say not. Interestingly, I had never even HEARD of this Alinsky chap until I got on this site and heard a conservative (I think it was Daddio/Willy) claim all the lefties were Alinsky disciples.

    libpatriot Reply:

Whoops! “Usee” is not a word. I must still be tired…

    Daddio Reply:

I think Hillary Clinton did a thesis in college on or about Sal Alinsky or his tactics. Many radical liberals have cozied up to his book and learned his tactics and now many liberals who have never heard of Sal Alinsky or his book “Rules For Radicals” use those rules unwittingly because of who they listen to and what they read and their upbringing.

    OldLefty Reply:

Sal Alinsky is so old, the problem conservatives have with him is that someone ACTUALLY used THEIR own tactics to help the people instead of just the elites.

    Daddio Reply:

What’s his age have to do with anything? How does riducule and denogration and destroying one’s reputation help the people Lefty?

    EricG Reply:

Daddio – “Many radical liberals have cozied up to his book and learned his tactics and now many liberals who have never heard of Sal Alinsky or his book “Rules For Radicals” use those rules unwittingly because of who they listen to and what they read and their upbringing.”

DO you ever listen to your own media-hounds?

They follow the Rules for Radicals as closely as anyone else.

If anything Glenn Beck is the nexy Sal Alinsky.

Add Hannity to the that list too.

They have copied the ideas in that book to a tee and use those exact tactics everyday against liberals.

Face it, these people you listen to on FOX News are extremist right wingers who will abandon you in a second the moment you realize that being an American is about showing respect to the other side even if you don’t feel as if you should.

When Bill O’Reilly admits he is a slander artist and Sean Hannity admits some of his best friends are liberals and he won’t stand for his friends being called socialists ANYMORE! that will be the day American Values return to FOX News.

And hopefully the image of being a real American and not just a bitter little partisan hound will spread throughout the nation.

    OldLefty Reply:

“Many radical liberals have cozied up to his book and learned ….

    ………..

as many as conservatives have cozied up to the tactics of Lee Atwater?

  6. Caller commenting on the effect of the Van Jones resignation:
“Republicans will now feel empowered to go after every single appointment Obama has made.”
Seems likely, judging by Drk H’s recent posts.

    OldLefty Reply:

Is that all WE had to do to get rid of all the objectionable characters in the last administration?

The difference is that the media is a little more reticent in repeating slurs against established powerful people.

    libpatriot Reply:

Yep, Lefty, and that’s another reason why I don’t buy these claims of it being a “liberal media”. I think it’s just the cynical corporate media. The media just LOVED playing that out-of-context soundbite from Jeremiah Wright and that handheld camera video some “supporter” filmed at an SF fundraiser where Obama talked about people being bitter and clinging to guns and religion. Both to embarass and disadvantage Obama in his brutal primary fight with the more moderate Clinton. “Liberal media”, my b#tt.

    EricG Reply:

Glenn Beck is a domestic terrorist, a communist supporter and a shill for un-American policies that get Americans killed.

The right wing of this age deserves no respect and no time investment. They are a slow destruction of American Liberty, Freedom and Justice.

    Shame on all them.

  7. Goliath43, while you’re still online, I wanted to tell you I appreciated your comment the other day (forget which topic post it was) that just because someone disagrees with the President’s policy, it doesn’t necessarily mean racism is a motivation. You’re absolutely right, some of us on the left are too quick to cry racism in these matters. Well said on your part. Just wanted to tell you.

    EricG Reply:

    Very true.

But a lot of people on the right hide their racism by constantly charging that it “cannot be so” when in fact anyone can see that it is not so.

For example, the school address and the number of people willing to believe the worst of the president at the drop of a hat and without seeing anything of the video themselves.

For most Americans race wasn’t the issue, I know that. But the sheer mountain of distrust that is completely lacking if it were a Republican giving the address combined with how certain people simply refute all facts and hang tightly to their slanderous comments about Obama.

To put it simply: They Hate him with all their souls.

And it doesn’t look like or sound or resemble in anyway a political rejection of the man.

In some cases it is clear that it is a rejection of the first black president of the US.

To ignore the reality of racism is to allow to thrive.
