Representative Joe Wilson Shouts “You Lie” At President Obama (UPDATED)
Nancy Pelosi, when asked if she’ll sanction Joe Wilson for inappropriate behavior told Fox News, “I don’t even know who he is.” Wilson, it turns out is a former aide to Senator Strom Thurmond. Wilson also once called California Congressman Bob Filner “viscerally anti-American” with a deep seeded (sp) “hatred of America” when Filner suggested the United States supplied chemical and biological weapons to Iraq.
UPDATE: Joe Wilson has now apologized:
“This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.”
For a moment that guy thought he was at a town hall
meeting.

In fairness the left have Michael Moore in terms of people painting one-sided, misleading and partisan versions of the issues. However, there is one of him versus a legion of such figures on the right like Rush, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity etc
That in itself doesn’t get me down as listening to such views can be positive if they make you ask questions about issues you thought you understood or maybe were not even aware of.
The problem though is that instead of making people think, I see the polar opposite where disciples listen to their diatribes and then without question as to veracity or context, take it as their ‘facts’ which they mindlessly regurgitate to anyone trying to discuss the issues.
Instead of having debates with each other where we try to explain that for this problem ‘big government’ is a good or bad idea, it has instead devolved on the right to simply ‘Big government is a bad idea’ and any attempt to argue otherwise meets with soundbites learned from the Right-wing talking heads or simply silence.

And the truth will set you free. Wilson verbalized what everyone in that room and hopefully those who were watching already knows: Obama lies when he says health care won’t go to illegals.
And to his statement that ‘I would say that the deficit is the health care deficit’, here in California we all know the real finacial deficit we have is the result of millions of illegal immigrants whose entire families live off of our taxes. That would be fine, if they all paid taxes. Ever hear of a SFR? That’s a single family residence. Do you realize that the way taxes are calculated, is based on how much infrastructure a home requires for a single family (i.e. sewer, water, trash, police, fire departments, etc. etc.etc.). When you have 2,3 or even 4 families living in a SFR, it completly skews the financial picture of a town, city and state.
We are bankrupt because we simply don’t collect enough taxes to pay for everyone and the taxes we do collect don’t go to supporting that infrastructure, but rather to covering costs for those who aren’t paying their share! It’s truly that simple.
So, again, the truth will set you free, friend. Wilson may have been ‘unruly’, but he was RIGHT!
May we all be so ‘right’ as to stand up for the truth.

P.S. The Legislature here in AZ can’t get a budget passed for the same reason; Republicans here refuse to raise income taxes on the wealthier Arizonans, even though our educational system is one of the poorest in the nation. But they don’t seem to care for anybody but the elite and their conservative knee-jerk reaction to the sane recommendation, “We’ve got to raise taxes here.”

Bottom line, even if you got all of the money from the rich, the country would still be broke. Why? Because the government runs off of taxes and taxes are not generated when jobs are shipped overseas. Taxes are not generated when people don’t have money to spend.
If you want REAL reform, TAKE BACK THE GOVERNMENT!
Give people their money back. They will automatically CREATE JOBS! People spending money does that.
Roll back Social Security, roll back welfare, tell the Republicans and Democrats to leave our money the heck alone and let people manage their own money. Pay for the poor and needy by providing MAJOR tax breaks for those individuals and companies who contribute. Talk about a brand new cottage industry!
Wow, imagine with me, if you can, a country where people take care of EACH OTHER, rather than a government run system that will care for you in order of what’s best for the collective, then according to your need and that at the mercy of their estimation of what you need.

Now, Friend, I haven’t called you any names yet, but go ahead and call me anything you want if it makes you feel better. Yes, JFK lowered taxes. But the 1950s were a time of unprecedented prosperity mainly because Eisenhower kept taxes high on the wealthiest Americans, which helped pay down the debt, which helped keep interest rates low w/o causing inflation, which encouraged more small business investment. In fact, the marginal tax rate on the highest income bracket in the Eisenhower years was 88% (no, that’s not a typo; look it up for yourself and see).
The wealthy do NOT generally use their extra income to create more jobs; rather they hide it and they hoard it once their basic needs (and impulsive wants) are met. It will be a great boon for our economy once the G. W. Bush tax cuts expire, and you will see it.
Reaganomics was a dismal failure, and the only thing that saved our country from plummeting into ruin was that his successor George H. W. Bush wisely raised taxes again. Republicans who cling to the fanciful principles of Ronald Reagan are betraying the principles of TRULY GREAT Republicans like Abraham Lincoln (who instituted the inheritance tax and the first progressive tax system, and favored labor over capital interests) and Theodore Roosevelt (who favored taxing the wealthy at a higher rate; also favored labor over capital).
Republicans who don’t want to see their party become increasingly marginalized would do well to emulate the priciples of Abe Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt once again, and should FORGET ALL ABOUT REAGAN’S FAIRY TALE VIEW OF HOW THE ECONOMY WORKS.
Believing that supply-side theories will work for our country is as laughable as believing in the existence of a Free-Market Fairy and a Low-Tax Leprechaun being here to solve all our challenges, lol.
And if you’re faith in God is so strong, then why should you worry about money; you believe God will always provide, no?

America was founded as ONE nation, UNDER GOD.
What you see as a civil war is the dissolution of the union caused by several things:
1: Wholesale rejection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the embracing of false Gods.
2: Rejection of the foundation to our Judicial system (Judeo-Christian morals and ethics) (see #1 for reason.)
3: Rejection of the free-market system and the take over of our economy by powers bent on lowering the U.S. standard of living to that of the rest of the world (also known as theft).
4: Subjugation of American sovereignty to a new “World Order”.

I at least get the impression from Bill that he wants to be fair even if his ideologies prevent him from doing so. Furthermore, to his credit he brings on a lot more guest liberals to his show than others (including Alan) even if the debates are too short and/or stacked against the Left view.
