On Friday’s Radio Show…
• Nancy Pelosi was mocked by conservatives for expressing concern that today’s political climate could lead to violence. Tom Locke, a 32-year veteran of the FBI, joins Alan to explain why he agrees with her.
• A truly uplifting tale. Stockbroker-turned-landlord Ed Pierce went back to work at Walgreens to help pay the rent for his recently unemployed tenants. Alan wonders if you’d do the same.
• It’s the Friday Night Free-For-All!

How about those un-American, un-patriotic, hatemongering, angry mobs in Pittsburgh. What a bunch of Nazi’s who are funded by far left wing organizations.

I live in Pittsburgh, there is very little going on.
The only ones causing any trouble are the anarchists, and they are funded only by their parents.

“My financial adviser, Joe Hadobas, has this twist:
“We have a term for anarchists on Wall Street: investment bankers. Both are defined in this manner: Willful destroyers of other people’s property; people acting without regard to their actions; people who serve no obvious social utility; people whose sole focus is self-interest masquerading as serving a greater good; people who scoff at rules and regulations.”

More damage is done in riots stimulated by college and professional sports–and if anyone wants to outlaw the NFL, or that temple to the internal combustion engine, NASCAR, be my guest.

Anarchists are not left. They are one stage past a Libertarian, who are are rightwing, and just fall off this whole political spectrum.
Seems to me most conservatives are all closet Anarchists these days. Anarcho-capitalists at least.
Screaming about government expansion is the Anarchists bread and butter.

The click-on story about Ed Pierce is heartwarming.
A nice little article about somebody who “walks the walk”.

I agree. An example of someone who practices charity voluntarily; not by force of gun.

Pierce came out of early retirement to make $8.50/hr at Walgreens, $17,000/year.
Walgreen’s CEO/COO Gregory D. Wasson makes $1.40M/year in salary alone. $700/hr.
Ed is right where John Galt put him. I see little warmth in the situation.
I’m surprised some wingnut didn’t already point out the obvious, that if Pierce could get a job then his unemployed tenants could have also.
I saw someone I used to work with the other day. My ol’ work buddy was once UAW making $25/hr but now he’s also working the photo booth at Walgreen’s. He’s also right where John Galt put him.

A caller tonight, seeking to refute the notion that blacks who voted for Obama are racist, made some good points:
Blacks didn’t turn out in high numbers to vote for Shirley Chisholm (African-American) in her 1972 bid for the Democratic nomination (the 1st woman ever to run for U.S. president w/i a major party).
Blacks didn’t turn out in high numbers to vote for Jessie Jackson in 1984 or 1988.
Blacks didn’t turn out in high numbers to vote for Al Sharpton, EVER.
More than 90% of voting blacks voted for Al Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004.
Blacks overwhelmingly voted for Barack Obama because he is a Democrat, NOT because he is black.
To which I’ll add:
Blacks are overwhelmingly more loyal to Democrats than to Republicans, and it has been this way since the Great Depression.
Simply because an African-American voted for Obama does NOT make her/him racist.
