Rep. Trent Franks Finally Believes Obama Was Born Here, “Even If He Acts Un-American”

Arizona Congressman Trent Franks, who once considered a lawsuit to determine President Obama’s citizenship, now says he’s satisfied that the president was born in Hawaii. (via Think Progress)
FRANKS: I believe he’s a natural born citizen of the United States under the Constitution. And therefore, even if he acts un-American and he seems to go against American interests, I’d still believe he’s a natural-born American citizen.
Obama’s not a mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, moonshine-swilling, banjo-picking, country-music-loving, pickup-truck-driving, gap-toothed Southern redneck, so yeah, he doesn’t fit Republican standards for “acting American”.

Trent Franks is a bald faced liar! I was at his August 2009 town hall meeting in Kingman, AZ and the whole congregation, yes I said congregation, save we few Dems in the church, applauded Mr.Franks when he openly stated that he had every intention of filing a lawsuit against the President to prove he was born in the USA. It was a disgusting display and plain Un-American. A few days later he recanted and stated he had changed his mind and was not filing the suit.

In the Comments section of the above-referenced Think Progress atricle, “Chyron HR” parodies Franks:
“‘That’d solve the problem,’ said Franks, ‘until we suddenly decide that the long-form birth certificate isn’t really a birth certificate either, and start demanding that Obama show us his double-super secret birth certificate instead.’”

Yup, that’s what I was saying when the radio jocks first started going on about this.
They don;t want to take the certificate that the state gives out … no! … they need a super-special original copy with fresh ink and time-stamps.
It’s soooo stupid.
Most people can’t even find that kind of stuff at a records office.
It’s the kind of thing that never gets touched until you kick the bucket.
I’ve said from the beginning it was just a crusade to try and amplify his “otherness” as I’ve heard it called.
