Secret Service Probing Facebook Obama Poll

September 28th, 2009, 4:53 PM EDT

A poll that went up on Facebook asking if President Obama should be killed is now being investigated by the Secret Service. Although the AP says the poll went up Saturday night and came down quickly, it was up as viewable as of Monday morning.

“We are aware of it and we will take the appropriate investigative steps,” said Darrin Blackford, a Secret Service spokesman. “We take of these things seriously.”

The poll asked respondents “Should Obama be killed?” The choices: No, Maybe, Yes, and Yes if he cuts my health care.

The question was not created by Facebook, but by an independent person using an add-on application that has been suspended from the site.

“The third-party application that enabled an individual user to create the offensive poll was brought to our attention this morning,” said Barry Schnitt, Facebook’s spokesman for policy.

Facebook is working with the Secret Service to get to the bottom of it.

Potrfry only thinks he knows what Lib knows Alan thinks Potry knows but, Lib thinks he knows what Alan thinks he knows when only Potfry knows what Alan thinks he knows.

But isn’t it funny that this pimply-faced teenager choose to say this to get attention?

    That’s my point.

  2. [...] said, of course the moonbat-o-sphere trots out the blame. Little Green Fascists, Hufftard Post, Excitable Alan Colmes,  and many others are in the Insane-o-sphere are blaming all sorts of Republicans/Conservatives [...]

  3. “Should Obama be killed?” The choices: No, Maybe, Yes, and Yes if he cuts my health care.

I find it laughable that these people on the rightwing are even beginning to claim they are not stirring up exactly this kind of violent atmosphere. This “Stop The ACLU” Wingnut here has foul language and lies about health care & Obama right there on a side-banner.

It’s always been plain as day. They are inciting people toward violence and playing the Politics of Fear.

Anti-ACLU might as well be anti-American to me.

Standing against civil liberties … standing against a group that has defended people like Rush Limbaugh … I find it disgusting.

I hope the Secret Service twists the ear of what ever little snot did this.

  4. The blame game is getting rediculous here. Blaming Rush, Glenn, Sean, and any other conservative talk show host for the outrageous comments or actions of some nutcase out there is outrageous in itself.

That is like me saying that Harry Reid is responsible for soldiers being killed because he emboldened our enemiew by saying, on the Senate floor, that “this war is lost”. Or blaming John Kerry for increased deaths in Iraq by saying our “soldiers are terrorizing women and children in the dead of night”.

Or how about that late night tv show that showed a picture of Pres. George Bush in the cross hairs of a rifle scope. Should I say that he was encouraging the nuts out there to shoot George Bush?

First of all Daddio, you completely took John Kerry’s statement out of context.

Second of all, Reid was right, the Iraq was IS lost. It is now an occupation with no declaration of who won.

Third, who actually “wins” a war when so many lives are lost? I never understood that statement.

  5. What these right wingers do is , they say the incendiary things to whip up their listeners, ( giving them, the impression that because they hear it on MSM, it must be mainstream), then when the most unstable amongst them responds in a dubious way the say…”Wasn’t me! “Wasn’t me! “Wasn’t me!”, playing up the victim role even more, and generating higher ratings.

Left winger with a picture of Pres. Bush in the cross hairs of a rifle? Ok by you then?

“Left winger with a picture of Pres. Bush in the cross hairs of a rifle?”

    …………………………………………

It may well have happened, but you would have to show it…

And when you say, “Ok by you then?” what do you mean….there is no national host on mass media or party or elected official promoting it.

It is a difference between the things you see in crowds, on both sides and what is endorsed by the leadership.

Remember, people were arrested for anti Bush shirts, but they bring guns to Obama events.

I’ve seen that Bush in the crosshairs image before.

    Wrong then, wrong now.

Now there are guns in the mix, gnarlier crowd if you ask me.

Hard to ignore the fact : 400% increase in death threats to the president.
