Wingnut Of The Day: Kitty Wirthmann

Kitty Wirthmann is the Eagle Forum South Dakota President. She spoke at the “How To Take Back America Conference” over the weekend, urging people to “keep your guns” and “buy more guns” so they “don’t take the country into Socialism.” She said Hitler talked like an American politician, but it could have been prevented if people had guns. (h/t Think Progress)
If we had our guns, we would have fought a bloody battle. So, keep your guns, and buy more guns, and buy ammunition. [...] Take back America. Don’t let them take the country into Socialism. And I refer again, Hitler’s party was National Socialism. [...] And that’s what we are having here right now, which is bordering on Marxism.

I can’t imagine how ignorant you have to be to believe that Hitler was a Marxist. I wonder what Hitler would have thought of that. He probably would have gone into one of his purple rages.

Fascist=bad.
Nazi=bad.
Liberal=Bad.
So Liberal=Socialist,Liberal=Fascist,Liberal=Nazi”

No one should have a first name of “Kitty” unless her last name happens to be “Carlisle.”

You got a problem with the First Amendment, Daddio?
Because speaking out against guns and gun violence is just as protected as owning the guns legal in your state to own.
One right does somehow outweigh the other.

2nd ammendment is clear – keep your guns and join your local well-regulated militia. Otherwise, you don’t have a right to own a gun. Says so in the ACTUAL Constitution.

Wingnut of the Day, Oct. 1, 2009:
Rep. Grayson (D) FL. His outrageous remarks saying Republicans say if people get sick they should die quickly.
Where is his apology for those outrageous remarks…said on the House floor.
OldLefty Reply:

I guess it’s with Joe Wilson’s apology.
“It’s not that Republicans want to kill people; it’s that their opposition to meaningful health care reform and their “free market” alternatives would further deregulate insurers and allow companies to continue pushing individuals into high deductible policies that don’t provide adequate coverage and actually harm Americans who can’t afford their medical bills.
As for the politics, isn’t it a little late in the game for congressional Republican to feign outrage about death-related rhetoric? “

Let’s just say that any Republican said that on the House floor about the Democrats.
What would be the reaction from Dems?
OldLefty Reply:

“What would be the reaction from Dems?”
……………
The same as it has been everything time they say something like that….
The same as it was when Cheney told Leahy to “go F yourself” then went on Fox News and said “It felt good.”
Daddio Reply:
October 1st, 2009 at 8:29 am
Why not the same reaction from Dems when it is a Democrat who says such things?
At least Cheney was honest when he said “it felt good”.
OldLefty Reply:

Either there IS the same reaction ” from Dems when it is a Democrat who says such things?”….or they are just being honest as you say.
Daddio Reply:

The silence from the Democrats over his remarks is deafening Lefty. His remarks are worse than Cheney’s remarks.

“The silence from the Democrats over his remarks is deafening Lefty. His remarks are worse than Cheney’s remarks.”
……….
Why??
After death panels, and Marxist, and go cheney yourself, and “enemy of God,”…
Please….but now I know why Republicans are happier?
You just don’t let the facts get in the way.

You belong to the party of the double standard Lefty. Damn the Republicans for saying something outrageous but give the Democrat for saying something outrageous a complete pass.
Daddio Reply:

I am waiting for you to name ONE Republican who wants those who get sick to die quickly. Who said that?
OldLefty Reply:

“Name one Republican who said that if you get sick you should die quickly. Name one for me.”
………….
That is basically the policy of the insurance companies (dropping people when they get sick), that the Republicans seem to be defending.
Also as for double standards, again, the GOP rhetoric is ALWAYS the opposite of the truth.
The big difference is
#1) Joe Wilson directed violated the parliamentarian rules of the House.
#2) I love how Republicans do something 10 times then get the vapors when a Democrat does it once.
Daddio Reply:
October 1st, 2009 at 9:17 am
Then Rep. Grayson LIED on the floor of the House. He lied about the Republicans wanting those who get sick to die quickly.
He should apologize on the floor of the House to all Republicans.
Daddio Reply:

One time?!! Democrats only did this “once”?!!!
Harry Reid called Bush a “liar” in the Senate.
John Kerry said our troops were “terrorizing women and children in the dark of night”
Harry Reid said “this war is lost” while our brave men and women were fighting in Iraq.
Dick Durbin compared our troops to Nazis, while giving a debate on the Senate floor.
And many, many more in the House calling Pres. Bush a “liar”

Daddio,
There is a counterpoint for everything you say from Republicans who hacve said similar thing….I have to go now, but don’t make me print my long list of “the war is lost, and anti Clinton/ Gen Clark stuff.
The difference is that YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SHOUT OUT NAMES DURING A JOINT SESSION.
October 1st, 2009 at 8:10 am
Daddio,
“Then Rep. Grayson LIED on the floor of the House. He lied about the Republicans wanting those who get sick to die quickly.”
Having listened to his explanation, I don’t believe he ‘lied’. I do however believe the comment is unfair, misleading and ill-conceived rhetoric that is counter-productive to his purpose.
I don’t think that kind of statement belongs in our political discourse but to apologize would also imply the Republicans don’t produce inflammatory and misleading/false rhetoric on a regular basis.
The truth is we need to stop talking about death panels, killing grandma, the march to marxism etc and just debate the issues and genuinely look for solutions.
The day that becomes a reality, is the day Democratic politicians should be forced to apologize for their own ‘propaganda’.
