  1. Barry!!!

P0TUS RT @stales: @P0TUS you can take the trash out and take AirForceOne for a spin at the same time silly. Capitol idea!

less than 10 seconds ago from TweetDeck

I have a bunch of neo-cons following me on Twitter and it’s probably because I get a kick out at laughing at people like this guy up here.

    *snickering*

  2. lookout….I wonder if the kooks that bug alan will call in too for barry…

  3. You’d be surprised how common throughout the wingnut internets the “poor people have too many phones and fancy TVs so they can’t be THAT poor” argument is.

Okay, maybe you wouldn’t be surprised.

Now, the retired caller living on VA benefits is complaining about all those other welfare queens living off their government checks.

“Oh, yeah!! But I earned my welfare benefits!!!”

That’s the anti-poor talking point I always hear and the one I’m always asking someone to do a little better on if they are going to indite everyone who is struggling as “lazy” or “good-for-nothing”.

    They never can do it.

It’s pretty much they just would rather blame the poor, Democrats, and liberals for anything they can rather than face the fact that they hold some kind of resentment toward their fellow Americans.

  4. Speaking of growing income inequality, this was in the news the other day …

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33066877/ns/business-stocks_and_economy/

The wealthiest 10 percent of Americans — those making more than $138,000 each year — earned 11.4 times the roughly $12,000 made by those living near or below the poverty line in 2008, according to newly released census figures. That ratio was an increase from 11.2 in 2007 and the previous high of 11.22 in 2003.

Household income declined across all groups, but at sharper percentage levels for middle-income and poor Americans. Median income fell last year from $52,163 to $50,303, wiping out a decade’s worth of gains to hit the lowest level since 1997.

    Ouch.

    Reaganomics: miserable failure
Ronald Reagan: one of the worst presidents EVER, as we’re still suffering under changes he made

  5. And …

Between 1999 and 2008, income at the 50th and 10th percentiles decreased 4.3 percent and 9 percent, respectively, while income at the 90th percentile was statistically unchanged.

We’ve been trickled down on for years but many of us (on the right anyway) still don’t yet realize the trickling was only a golden shower.

The teabaggers (like Stanley) keep calling in to explain how calm and reasonable they are and how they aren’t crazy as they’ve been portrayed in the leftist press. Then they YELL, SCREAM and SWEAR to “prove” their point.

    ……………….

You know, I just saw this, and while I have not heard the show yet, I find it interesting that the right loved to quote the FBI agent of a few days ago, who seemed out of nowhere to praise 9/12 DC rally people.

    Interesting thing is:

Retired FBI agent Tom Locke: Managing Director at BGR Holding

BGR Holding is Barbour Griffith & Rogers, a conservative lobbying group. (Barbour as in Haley Barbour)

BGR Holding ceo, Lanny Griffith, is also a member of Freedomworks.

Max Pappas, who was Director of Research at BGR Holding, LLC, and is now, Vice President, Public Policy at FreedomWorks.

So basically, our FBI agent is just plugging an event sponsored by his employers.

    Good point, Lefty

Usually they are just repeating their Daddy Beck, or Daddy Limbaugh, or Daddy O’Reilly, or Mommy Coulter.

I never very little original thought these days.

It’s all a mixture of FOX News talking points and talk-radio talking points that can all be disproved.

Remember the Bernie Frank town hall?

The “talking to a table” thing…

Well in the course of that town hall the same issue came up that Joe Wilson was such a jerk about, and even when reading the bill and handing it out for people to read for themselves … these “tea baggers” and “patriots” still denied that it was true and continued to say it was not so.

This is what is truly going on today on the right.

They have decided that ignorance over facts and denial of hard evidence is acceptable in attaining their goals.

It is like the parents who kept their kids home from the day of Obama’s address to the school children.

They want everyone to be as stupid as they are and it’s getting to be just hard facts to call them “stupid” instead of just something to say.

It’s actually getting to where they are not reading anything, listening to anyone or paying attention to what is happening in their own movement (racism).

  6. when they talk about the poor and their TVs etc.. the poor generally spend their money on entertainment so they can escape their condition for a few moments, live paycheck to paycheck and live in the moment, whereas middle class generally get wound up in status and saving/investing.

  7. You can buy a TV for under $100.

But if you’re paying less than $500 a month for health insurance it’s because somebody like your employer is paying the rest of the tab.

Take a walk down to HR and ask.

  8. GOOD JOB, BARRY!

  9. Not so great on the technical side. No Wednesday podcast as of yet.

    EricG Reply:

Yea, I could gripe about that.

Who the **** is in charge of that?

    I need my fix! (j/k)

No seriously though, I’m just curious why sometimes that’s the only podcast that doesn’t update in time with the others on iTunes.
