WWE CEO Linda McMahon May Run For Dodd’s Senate Seat

World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon, wife of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, is strongly leaning toward challenging Chris Dodd for in his 2010 senate race. McMahon would run as a Republican.

“A decision is imminent, and she will likely make a decision over the next couple of days,” said a Republican strategist. “It will be made sooner rather than later.”

One well-placed source said McMahon is “99 percent” in. Another said the announcement could come as early as Wednesday.

The anti-abortion group Operation Rescue is telling its supporters that it is facing “a major financial crisis” and my have to close its doors.

Troy Newman (in white jacket, right), the anti-abortion group’s president, blamed the economic downturn for its money woes in a desperate plea e-mailed Monday night to donors.
