Abortion Opponents Want Human Rights For Embryos

The Virginia-based American Life League is pushing an amendment to the Florida Constitution that would define a “person” as being in existence from “the beginning of the biological development.”  This being called the “Personhood Amendment“. (The photo at right shows an 8-cell embryo)

It appears as though Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is part of the tenther movement.  Think Progress shows how Pawlenty is moving to the right, invoking states’ rights, perhaps with an eye toward 2012. It’s a shame that we continue to see Republicans with White House ambitions think they have to move wingward in order to satisfy “the base.”

RNC Chair Michael Steele accused President Obama of using Ted Kennedy’s letter as a “political tool” and called it “bad form.”

Wilson Bashed Strom’s Mixed-Race Daughter In 2003

In December 2003, when Essie Mae Washington-Williams acknowledged that she was the illegitimate daughter of the recently-deceased South Carolina Senator Storm Thurmond, Joe “You Lie” Wilson said he didn’t believe her.

Rep. Wilson, a former page of Thurmond’s, immediately told The State newspaper that he didn’t believe Williams. He deemed the revelation “unseemly.” And he added that even if she was telling the truth, she should have kept the inconvenient facts to herself:

Polls Show Obama Speech Big Success

CBS has Obama going from 62 to 69% and the CNN poll gives him a 68% approval on the speech itself.  And the true target audience, the American public, seems more favorably inclined toward health care reform.

The initial polling on the President speech give encouraging signs as to how the speech was received by “Joe Six Pack.” According to CNN the percentage of American supporting reform proposals went from 53% before the speech to 67% after the speech. In addition, 56% of viewers had a “very positive” reaction to the speech.…

Representative Joe Wilson Shouts “You Lie” At President Obama (UPDATED)

Nancy Pelosi, when asked if she’ll sanction Joe Wilson for inappropriate behavior told Fox News, “I don’t even know who he is.”  Wilson, it turns out is a former aide to Senator Strom Thurmond. Wilson also once called California Congressman Bob Filner “viscerally anti-American” with a deep seeded (sp) “hatred of America” when Filner suggested the United States supplied chemical and biological weapons to Iraq.
