GOP Offers Heath Care Reponse By Rep Who Took $1.2 Mil From Industry

The birther congressman selected to give the Republican response to President Obama’s health care address, Rep. Charles Boustany, has received monies totaling $1,256,056 from “health and insurance interests” since 2004, according to the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics.

“There is a conflict of interest when members of Congress stand before the public and recite the same talking points put forth by lobbyists and the heads of insurance and HMO giants opposing health care legislation,” commented David Donnelly, national campaigns director of Public Campaign Action Fund. “Rep. Conservative Republican California Assemblyman Mike Duvall has a 100% rating from the Capital Resource Institute, a group whose mission is to “educate, advocate, protect, and defend family-friendly policies in the California state legislature.”  The married father of two was caught in front of an open mike bragging about two women with whom he is having affairs, one of whom is a lobbyist.

GOP Birther To Give Reponse To Obama Speech

GOP Congressman Charles Boustany of Louisiana, who can’t bring himself around to admit that President Obama was born in the United States, has been selected by the Republican leadership to give their official response to Obama’s health care speech. Boustany tried to avoid talking about this to Mike Stark, when Stark made the rounds on Capitol Hill getting representatives on record about Obama’s birthplace.

Stark asks, “What do you personally believe though, I mean, do you think there’s a question here [about Obama's birth certificate]?”

Boustany’s response? “I think there are questions. We’ll have to see.”

“Hillary: The Movie” Appearing AT SCOTUS

The Supreme Court, in a rare September session, is listening to arguments about whether the right-wing produced “Hillary: The Movie” should be regulated as a campaign ad, or considered free speech under the First Amendment.

But it took on greater significance after the justices decided to use the case to consider whether to ease restrictions, established in two earlier decisions now at issue, on how corporations and labor unions may spend money to influence elections.
