    EricG Reply:

I think he is just trying to get it right so we all don’t fret over Vladamir’s failings once again.

He doesn’t want to put it up just to take it down again.

Though you might be right, I think it’s something else.

  24. LOL!

I just was reading the thread from underneath the wingnut Lila Rose talking about angels singing and Flap pointed out something I do constantly that is really funny.

I always mix up the words “vicious” and “viscous”, it makes for a strange statements like:

The viscous protestors … and the vicious old sponge.

I was just spell-checking and formatting my blogs and noticing I;ve done it in there too.

    Too stupid.

    vicious

: having the nature or quality of vice or immorality
    : depraved
: defective, faulty; also : invalid
    : impure, noxious
    : dangerously aggressive

    viscous

    : viscid
: having or characterized by viscosity (viscous lava)

I do actually know the difference … I swear.

  25. MERLIN PROJECT-Cardinals all the way in 2009!

    libpatriot Reply:

Hey, I’m for that! GO, ARIZONA!

  26. WE should all be scared when banks are wanting 60 percent down when buying land,,

    John Galt Reply:

    Why?

    Bob the union man Reply:

John I guess you know nothing about buying property then..

  27. Colmes is way too Pollyannish when it comes to the stock market and the economy.

It’s clear the stock market run from the March lows was a backdoor stab at reinflating the banks and Wall Street to avoid a more direct rescue. The Fed (Helicopter Ben) has been flooding the banking system with cash and the money has flowed into Wall Street instead of Main Street. The investment banks have been using Ben’s free money to goose the markets. The Fed’s sugar injection is supposed to stop this month although they’ve mysteriously left the door open for something else to follow it. We’re about to find out if Ben’s “fix” will fix anything other than the bankers’ bonus pools in the long run.

Meanwhile, any modest boost on Main Street is already beginning to fade. Jobs are the key to a Main Street recovery and the employment picture stinks out here in fly-over country. At best, any recovery is shaping up to be a jobless recovery which is no recovery at all for anyone who isn’t independently wealthy.

There are other bad things on the horizon. Commercial real estate is worsening and another wave of mortgage resets is coming along soon. The bankers have already shown a willingness to flush the world economy to save their bonus checks and there’s no reason to think they won’t do it again.

All that said, your Merlin guests sell a “Light Force 9000″ medical device on their website that appears to be nothing more than a standard LED light. The same light you see on the rear of many new semi-trailers. Their magic light appears to be at best only a heat source (try an old-fashioned heat pad instead?) and quackery at worst.

    Suzanne Reply:

Hey its Ok.. Alan invested in GOLD!

    EricG Reply:

    Well said, Anonymouse.

You wrapped that burrito up quite well.

Merlin is only good for their predictive modeling, I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy products from them.

  28. I’m recently getting these “change of terms” notices from my credit card companies. I keep four cards and I’ve had all of them for years with a good credit score (~800) and no revolving balances.

They’re all boosting their freakin’ interest rates to 31%. They were all in the 12-18% range. This is going to catch up with millions of people who carry balances very soon.
