  1. Alan Grayson: apparently the only Democrat in Congress who’s actually got a pair.

  2. Alan Grayson: American.

Whatever most of the other 534 “public servants” are, it’s anyone’s guess.

  3. Sure hope Rep. Grayson continues to speak out! It’s about time one of the Democrats got up to it! Where the heck is the rest of the party! This is the kind of clear talk that “tells it like it is.”
The Repubs wanting an apology? They dish it out all over the country without any consideration of how their bs impacts the hard working, long suffering folk that built & paid for the healthcare system and now are being left out (kicked out). We paid for the education of healthcare workers and the buildings they occupy but if you go in without the big bucks now demanded..well..like Grayson said…figure you can “die early.” So sick of their ruthless, cold-hearted elitism!!!

    John Galt Reply:

    you can “die early.”

The irony is, of course, that if this disaster of a health care bill gets passed, it will be the Democrats who will have imposed a rationing system that will bias against the group that is most likely to avail themselves of the system; the elderly.

If we would just work to make care more economical, we wouldn’t have to ration like the Dems want. We could just continue to let the market reign.

“who will have imposed a rationing system that will bias against the group that is most likely to avail themselves of the system; the elderly”

No John, instead of the current system where the bias is against the poor, it will be what it should be, based on medical need!

And the whole fearmongering about ‘rationing’ is really utterly selfish, pro-me and anti-American.

Healthcare is a product that people ‘buy’ out of necessity and not out of a whim. So when you discourage people from using it because of wealth, you are discouraging people who _need_ it. This is not done just in favor of richer people who need it but instead done in favor of rich people who need it but want it faster..

There are far greater numbers of people who die in this country because they didn’t get healthcare in time than die in other countries with universal healthcare.

We have some of the best hospitals/clinics in the world. Unfortunately we have the worst healthcare ’system’ amongst Western nations. Like too many other things it has stopped focussing on the consumers in favor of making rich people richer.

Yeah, that’s the crux of it.

I just got off the phone with someone actually in the health care system and she would agree with me that you just spoke in circles.

She was telling me she deals with this everyday, people spun up into a whirlwind of nonsense that has nothing to do with her office.

    1. We already have rationing, it’s based on greed and wealth. You want to keep that system, apparently.

    2. The claim that the Democrats are trying to harm the elderly is both low and completely fabricated. You should be ashamed of yourself for spreading these lies.

    3. You don’t want to make the system more economical, you just want to cut out the lawyers and leave the rest alone. Just like Grayson said “Don’t get sick & die quickly”.

You just named the essence of John Galt. Greed and wealth. If you’re not wealthy you have no intrinsic value to society, and you get wealthy through the exercise of boundless greed. It’s all about the failed theories of Ayn Rand. If you ain’t a captain of industry you’re just a cog in the machine and you eat the table scraps of the capitalist elite.

  4. So far I haven’t seen proposals from either party that would actually make the healthcare of this country any better. We need to kick out the corporate greed factor!
The fraud of healthcare providers to just Medicaid is estimated to be $200 billion dollars a year. This would surely be enough money to provide care to those who now go with nothing! No system will work so long as there is greed!
What we will likely end up with is another “corporate kick-in-the-head” like Medicare part D with a slushy subsidy for each crook!
People are not properties like cars to be managed as if we are replaceable. The whole notion of healthcare “insurance” is an insensitive assault on human beings which can only lead to rationing (as it is already) and a payment plan that favors the wealthiest.

  5. shouldnt all of them stop grandstanding and get some work completed for gods sake?

  6. Technically, a “blue gum” is a sub-species of the Aussie Eucalyptus tree.

Blue gums are consider quite tastee by the Koala Bears, down under.

I know a blue-born Man and he likes eucalyptus, for his gumption…I wonder if that may be close…No idea too lazy to check it out.

    Don’t really give a damn…Hic:)

    anonymouse Reply:

Perhaps all these callers throwing “blue gum” around are only confusing the trees with the “blue men” instead?

My apologies, to my dear friend, JU. I really meant to say, a blue baby, even though he is now a, man. No, my friend is not a blue-man, even though he was born blue, ( he was a twin and lacked oxygen, at birthing, hence the name) Ha! His body rocks, though!and last I saw no blue, just a sweet sculpted, tanned body!!!!

I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day:)

No, Alan, he is not “controversial”. He is “patriotic”. He is “visionary”. He is “exulted”. He is “heroic”.

But not controversial in the least.

i have no idea what you mean

  8. The problem with evolution, is too much monkeying around. Now, I, do not reproduce with feminists, because they hit you up for child support and retain all custody rights, and besides the kid is not good looking.

But the problem with evolution is it doesn’t work because there are guys who will sleep with anyone.
That is how you get Ghadaffi and Arafat. Now look at Bush I – he married for money probably, right? Now look at his children.

If God wanted evolution, would it be this way?

    Rocky the Liberal Rottweiler Reply:

My view is that the best argument for your argument is your own argument, which, I just have to say, should probably be evaluated by a psychologist, rather than someone conversant in evolutionary theory.

    Rocky the Liberal Rottweiler Reply:

Ok let me go over this again. The fact that some people do stupid things does not prove or disprove the theory of evolution. WHAT IT DOES IS CONTRIBUTE TO WHETHER OR NOT YOU GO EXTINCT AS A SPECIES!
