  1. “Do you have Prince Albert in a can?”

    Yes, we do.

“Well, you’d better let him out!”

Colmes has no sense of humor. That joke’s been making people laugh hysterically since 1907. Har, har, har!!!

  2. Do you have King Edward in a box?

  3. Colmes has so many callers/listeners (yes, I recognize the voices if not the names) who can’t stand him or his show and only call in to call him names and threaten his life.

    Whazzup with that?

It’s the love/hate relationship that some people feed on.

It’s like if I actually enjoyed having Spinster Glenn Beck turn the world upside down, instead wanting to slap him stupid for being such an patriotic clown.

  4. • A personal foul? Alan examines the fallout from Rush Limbaugh’s failed bid to buy the St. Louis Rams.

I’m telling you … PR stunt.

He knew from the beginning they would turn him down.

He is drowning in a sea of Beck.

The King is dead, just not in his grave yet.

  5. I like what Jay Leno said…

I don’t feel sorry for him. His capitalist ideas at work. Private institution, deciding for themselves who they want to join. It’s what he advocates, he can’t complain.

    Daddio Reply:

He’s not complaining about about capitalism. His beef is with all the comments that have been attributed to him that he never said. Those comments cannot be proven and no one can find where Rush has said any of them.

The McNabb comment is the only one and it isn’t a racial comment.

    OldLefty Reply:

There are tons of others, Daddio, like the blood and the crips, Colin Powell’s endorsement of Obama, During the February 14 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh invented a racial component to explain Iraq war veteran Paul Hackett’s departure from the Ohio Democratic Senate primary race. While reporting on Hackett’s decision to withdraw from the Democratic primary race against Rep.Sherrod Brown (D-OH) for the seat currently held by Sen. Mike DeWine (R-OH), Limbaugh asserted: “And don’t forget, Sherrod Brown is black. There’s a racial component here, too,” adding that “the newspaper that I’m reading all this from is The NYT, and they, of course, don’t mention that.”

gain, you would not want Al Sharpton owning a team either.

    Daddio Reply:

I don’t give a hoot if Al Sharpton owns a team. It is his right if he so chooses to pursue that. I don’t have a problem with that. It doesn’t matter to me what Al Sharpton has said. I believe in the right to free speech, even if I think it is offensive.

I don’t see any racist remarks listed by you Lefty, by the way.

    OldLefty Reply:

    Well, Daddio,

I don’t believe it would be no big deal if Al Sharpton owns a team.

I think if seasons were marred by his latest outrageous comments, or reference to race., the league would have a right to say he brings unwelcome controversy to the game, especially if white players they were treated unfairly, ( you would only need one case).

I think ALL the comments I listed are racist, and there is no doubt they would be seen that way if it were reversed.

    Daddio Reply:

Nope, nope. I disagree with you. No one has been able to directly quote Rush on any comments that are racist.

    OldLefty Reply:

“Nope, nope. I disagree with you. No one has been able to directly quote Rush on any comments that are racist.”

    ………….

You just don’t call them racist, but many others do.

    Rocky the Liberal Rottweiler Reply:

“You just don’t call them racist, but many others do.”

Of course he doesn’t. Because he’s in agreement with all those remarks. But, hey, there’s skinheads who’ll tell you they aren’t racists.

    average james Reply:

    Sorry Willio,

It reminds me of the ‘waterboarding isn’t really torture’ sentiment, the re-defining of terms to suit ones point, to justify.
Like Rocky said, many skinheads claim to not be racists, at least, not as society defines racist.

    average james Reply:

Rush seems to share my parents take on racial issues.

They have no problem with the “good” black people, those that agree with their point of view.

Or Mexicans, or Asians, or Armenians………..

    flap Reply:

“They have no problem with the “good” black people”

And I don’t have a problem with “good white people” who agree with me. How does that make me a racist?

    fede Reply:

I could find many more quotes for you that are legitimate, there’s not enough room and I don’t want to waste my time. Never mind playing a song “Obama the Majic Negro”.

I fully understand the ideals of freedom of speech, but there comes a time when the vitriol you spew has consequences, this happens to be one of those times.

Mr. Limbaugh wants listeners to believe he is the victim here, he is only the victim of his own doing. He wants to turn this into a debate of conservative/liberals, which this has nothing to do with.

He should understand the concept of allowing/not allowing membership in private clubs as he belongs to one in FL, which has no black membership, “The Everglades Club in Palm Beach, which has never had a black member. Joseph Kennedy quit the Everglades when his son became president. Socialite C.Z. Guest was suspended after she brought Estee Lauder, who was Jewish, there in 1972. Florida’s New Times reports that Kleenex heir James Kimberly took Sammy Davis Jr. to the club once and they were escorted out.”-the New York Post

Like his own private club, the NFL has decided Mr. Limbaugh does not belong.

    The Classless NFL Culture
    January 19, 2007–BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Look it, let me put it to you this way. The NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.

“Take that bone out of your nose and call me back” (to an African American female caller). — Response to a black caller he was having a hard time understanding in the 1970s when he worked under the name “Jeff Christie” on a top-40 music program in Pittsburgh, as quoted in Newsday (8 October 1990)

Limbaugh on Survivor series: “African-American tribe” worst swimmers, Hispanics “will do things other people won’t do.” On August 23, 2006, Limbaugh suggested that the competition in a season of CBS’ Survivor, in which contestants were reportedly divided into competing “tribes” by ethnicity, “is not going to be fair if there’s a lot of water events.” In support of this assertion, he cited a March 2, 2006, HealthDay article reporting that “young blacks — especially males — are much more likely to drown in pools than whites.” He later added that Hispanics have “probably shown the most survival tactics,” that they “have shown a remarkable ability to cross borders,” and that they can “do it without water for a long time, they don’t get apprehended, and they will do things other people won’t do.” On his September 29, 2006, show, Limbaugh claimed “[t]here can only be one reason” Survivor scrapped “segregated” competition after two episodes — “the white tribe had to be winning.”

    Good point Fede,

The private club doesn’t want him in it.
It must stick in his craw to be undone by one of his own espoused rights.

    Good quote Fede,
“take the bone out of your nose….”, I remember that one.

He certainly seemms to have a low opinion of minorities, except the ones that agree with his worldview. He tolerates those few.

He also holds a low opinion of women, except of course, those of his own ilk. Palin, Bachmann, Thatcher and so on are ok, the rest are totally running on emotion and unworthy of decision making privilage.
Remember his disdain of soccer moms ?

    TDro319 Reply:

Of COURSE Limbaugh isn’t a racist. You libs are taking what he says out of context. Just because he’s made what the rest of society considers racial slurs doesn’t mean the conservatives and republicans consider them racist.

    flap Reply:

    “rest of society”

    You mean liberals like yourself?

  6. “His beef is with all the comments that have been attributed to him…”

Limbowel’s only beef is with all the comments he’s made which didn’t earn him any publicity. What? Wasn’t anybody paying attention? How dare people not listen to him!!! How dare they not listen 24 hours a day!!!!!

  7. Give Me A Million Dollars, Mr. Obama!

We did this recently in the US, under the Bush II.

I ask myself often if everyone in the country goes through a memory-wipe that I keep missing every couple of months.

George W. Bush put out the Stimulus Check which is exactly the policy that Alan was calling stupid on the air, it is rather mundane and ineffective when you just cut people a check.

But this here is a George W. Bush Brand “Socialist“-laptop!

That’s right, we all paid for this thing I’m using right now. At least in half.

So throwing people money is not completely useless but it’s not going to fix anything in the long run.

The current Radio Hoaxers are Glenn Beck & Alex Jones and their fact-less fear-mongering, not Alan Colmes.

Combined with the faces of the lost soldiers on PBS and the Alan Colmes Podcast any person can see for themselves the loss of national treasure in the lives of our fellows.

The caller saying that Alan Colmes doesn’t have the right to read the names of the war dead has no idea what he is talking about.

    Hellen Thomas is my hero.

She is in my estimation the best news journalist in the business.

She actually understands journalism for what it is.

Remember what she said about FOX News?

    “It‘s not journalism.”

    Exactly. It’s a smear-shop of horrors and spinsters-at-large.

Obama is not ignoring a news agency, he is ignoring a former-news agency that has become a living zombie of hate.

(I‘m still thinking “cesspool“ is best way to describe what is going on at FOX News these days.)

People like Greta are shining light on FOX News but she is also doing mostly bipartisan coverage so she really never was part of the spin-factory as far I know.

Everyone who goes right wing punditry goes for the most disgusting dirty pool ever seen so people like Greta and Alan are the shinning stars amongst the rabble.

Talking about The Federal Reserve is such a long and boring conversation.

There is no conspiracy, just the same old power-hording there always is.

No conspiracy. You can watch Bernanke on YouTube go on about this, I’d bet.

Bernanke was saying that the legislators are not equipped to deal with handling the currency and it may well be true considering how much things have changed in sixty years. But I only advocate Congressional oversight, not control. And everyone has an opinion about this one way or the among the “policy wonks”.

I recognize the voice of the guy that just did a death threat on Alan Colmes.

That’s pretty serious. But this “sunlight is the disinfectant” policy would certainly apply here.

This man is driven into such extreme stages of hatred by his media-idols that he convinced himself that a fascist policy like hiding the number of soldiers lost in a war from the press is something “patriotic”.

Point is that believing whatever you want to believe is one thing and making death threats is another. It’s what Psychologists call: Indicative Behavior.
