  1. Should health care workers be forced to get flu shots?

    Yes
They meet people who come in to get well all the the time. if they/you are sick they/you can not help they. think about this, you are sick you go in to get help and get sicker. then were do you go.

  2. then were do you go.

Canada. Wait, they’re busy coming here. France. Wait, they’re broke. UK. Wait, so are they.

Hmm, there’s no place left to go. I guess if you are going to infringe on individual liberties, you have to go all the way, cause once ya start, there is no turnin back.

    “Wait, they’re busy coming here.”

    Only in your dreams.

“I guess if you are going to infringe on individual liberties, you have to go all the way, cause once ya start, there is no turnin back.”

By that logic the instant you allow anyone any freedom you have to go all the way to absolute anarchy, because once you start there’s no turning back.

But, fortunately, there are plenty of people outside of the republikkkan party who have brains in their heads, and they have no trouble recognizing the irrational bullcrap of the radical rightwing for what it truly is.

    EricG Reply:

You know you obviously only ever read or source yourself through right wing outlets, John.

You would know more about this then just “they come here for treatment” if you did.

It’s “specialized” treatment that people come here for and our “over=specialization” is one of the many factors driving up costs.

We need more GPs (General Practionors) and less specialists.

These doctors can move to Germany or Canada or where ever.

The whole system we have is wasting lives and wasting money.

But wait … I bet you just play politics and snark at each other rather than talk turkey.

  3. By that logic the instant you allow anyone any freedom you have to go all the way to absolute anarchy,

I see. So, in your world, there is only reasonable liberal views and only extreme conservative views, right?

Not one, not even one single conservative I know thinks that we should go all the way to anarchy. Every single one of us believes in the rule of law. However, what I was referring to above, dear rokkky, is the removing of individual Liberty.

    EricG Reply:

.. in your world, there is only reasonable liberal views and only extreme conservative views, right?

That is a perfect description on how exactly the right wingers in the media “lie” or “smear” as you so often hear people say but seem to be deaf to it yourself.

There are nothing but extremists and radicals and communists and socialists … no liberals or Democrats.

By the same token I could say there is nothing but fascists, domestic terrorists, racists, bigots and Neo-Nazis … no conservatives or Republicans.

It’s trash-talk politics and the right wing media in terms of FOX News and most AM radio is the primary source if this nonsense.

And every chowder head on the right gobbles it up and spews it back at me or Alan or whoever.

Every single one of us believes in the rule of law.

    Not Dick Cheney.
Not all the disgraceful people who continue to defend them and want to act like we didn’t just violate the US Constitution, when we did so quite clearly.

  4. Alan Colmes killed Jesus?!

    Welcome to the South.

    EricG Reply:

    Ronald Reagan killed Jesus.

    He and Jerry Falwell.

    libpatriot Reply:

I’ll try to be bipartisan about this, and say maybe they only put Him in a coma. He could be back on Easter Sunday w/i a year after the GOP collapses.

  5. Someone has a heart attack while uninsured and the treatment bankrupts him. He then uses his bankruptcy over the medical bills as proof that universal health insurance coverage is commie.

    Huh? WHAT?!

I can’t stand it. All your callers are morons. Foolish, stupid people. Idiots.

    libpatriot Reply:

Way too many of Alan’s callers are like that, yes. Fortunately not ALL are.

    EricG Reply:

That’s circular logic if I ever heard it.

    Round and round we go.

    jazmine Reply:

Totally agree with that. So what’s the bankruptcy percentage due to health care issues??? The numbers are unacceptable …Go Obama Go!

  6. I don’t care about Ballon Boy.

Media stunt, that’s all I have to say.

    libpatriot Reply:

Hot-air reporting gone to new heights, maybe.

  7. It’s past time to start facing the monster named Glenn Beck that the callers keep bringing up.

    Well past time.

Now, you’re Alan Colmes so I doubt you’ll pose that all important question:

Did Glenn Beck rape and murder a young girl in 1990?

But it is time to explain that baseless accusations and McCarthyism is what Glenn Beck does for a living and it’s all just pathetic smears on good people.

I would like to be clear, it’s over with my patty-cake with right wingers.

Before this monster of racism, bigotry and McCarthyism named Glenn Beck was made a god I was willing to stay away from this style of dirty politics and smear campaigns based on nothing but opinions … but now it’s official.

Bipartisanship, is dead. (I should say “back-tabled“ because a small minority of the conservatives are not on-board with this recent insanity.)

It’s time to pull the lying weasels into the sunlight.

I hate to say it but:

“If you‘re not with us, you‘re against us!”

That’s more like people that work under FOX than everyone everywhere.

I have nothing but nasty to say about Glenn Beck and his accusation-in-a-line-of-questioning being the basis of everything he says about the president.

He is a hoax. A rather sad one at that, and I do believe as long as Alan likes quotes he should absorb this one right along with everyone else:

“All evil requires to attain victory is for good men to stay silent.”

    That’s right.

Much to Alan’s credit he is on the right side of the race issue and about the facts on Obama and is probably the one of the only radio shows that could be accurately referred to as a “bipartisan format” which is nothing less than a service to the community in an agency like FOX News Talk.

So … on one note I am saying “right on, my man!” but in the same breath it’s “what are you doing ignoring this lunatic!?!”.

Put this silly kid in his place, Alan.

His jump-rope games are inciting a lynch mob.

And if the issue is more to the matter of not mentioning the name of the fellow broadcaster: just don’t say his dirty-little-name (Glib Barf).

I hear a lot of broadcasters on the left doing this lately. They talk about Beck and his so-called “rodeo clown” show which is really racism, idiocy, & McCarthyism but they never actually say the name.

    “I‘m going to name name’s!”

Alan Colmes doesn’t have to do such a petty thing as this just to address this issue. But it seems like he is dodging this issue to me.

The latest internet thing I’ve seen is Glenn Beck wearing a Russian military officer and some subtext about “hitting liberals with the truth“. The term “Hitler Youth” comes to mind in regards to what he might be inciting with this kind of net-banner. (Can‘t find the link.)

Beck is a sick little puppy.

    Vaccines work.

    Influenza vaccines work, anyway.

There is no “record of safety” around the H1N1 vaccine but it’s a spreading virus, so scientifically speaking it’s better to take an available vaccine than disregard it.

Having the state impose inoculation is something that I don’t support.

But a medical agency of any sort would be wise to require it of the staff. I just don’t want the government forcing medicine on people.

It’s much like many other issues where a lot of people have not looked into it and are choosing to believe some wild-ideologue’s ranting.

We are about to have a really bad flu season. People really die from “the flu” (or The Influenza Virus) and some of them would have lived if they taken the vaccine, mainly in cases of children and the elderly.

Even if a person remains skeptical, as I am in it’s effectiveness, of the H1N1 vaccine they should still get the regular flu shot.

Go with the facts and the hard data, and not the blind-fear. That’s my point on this.

    Alan Colmes -

    “.. American Treasure ..”

    **clapping**

    Beautiful language. I love it.

Next one I like to hear more out of anyone on the left is: Public Trust.

The Public Trust and our mutual American Treasure in both lives and currency has been expended in war by the previous president, not the current.

I think politicians avoid language like that because it cuts to the heart of what is really going on, like we used to in American Politics. A long, long time ago.

On the topic of “trust”. I think any broadcasting team doing anything news-like holds a share of that Public Trust, just to be accurate on facts and accurate about what is your view. I see both Greta and Alan as the few who hold this “trust” to be worthy of listening to.

I see the most recent crusades of lies and smears as nothing less the destruction of that Public Trust between informed Americans and the Fox Broadcasting Company.

But in the end it all came from one man, ripping off all his colleagues along the way.

The Master of Evil of public slander is now Glenn Beck, formerly the racist – NFL-rejected – Rush Limbaugh is now the racist Glenn Beck.

He ate his father, like a demonic worm would have.

  8. This is my first time visiting this site, however, I have been listening to your radio show for a while. I am admittedly conservative in many of my political leanings, moderate in others, but am still able to listen to and enjoy Liberal talk radio with an open mind most of the time. However, I have to say, your radio show is one of the most difficult programs I have listened to, and I usually enjoy liberal talk radio very much. You yell and scream and interrupt people before they can make a comment or a point, especially if it is contrary to yours. How is this behavior representative of the incredibly Liberal left for which you seem to be a very vocal advocate. Your outburst toward the caller who was attempting to explain to you about the Anita Dunn/Glenn Beck issue (Ms. Dunn had used a Mao Tse-tung quote) was outrageous and immature. Granted Beck’s reaction was ridiculous, reactions like the one you had to this particular caller completely negate any valid points you might have made later on in the show.
