Lieberman In 2006: “I Can Do More For You And Your Families…To Get Universal Health Insurance.”
Joe Lieberman made a campaign promise when he battled Ned Lamont for the Democratic nomination in the 2006 Connecticut senate race. Video is here.
And what I’m saying to the people of Connecticut, I can do more for you and your families to get something done to make health care affordable, to get universal health insurance, to make America energy independent, to save your jobs and create new ones. That’s what the Democratic Party is all about.
But now that it’s time to commit, Lieberman is singing a different tune.

If a health insurance Company comes on hard times, what are they going to do.
1. Raise your premiums
2. Call it a pre-existing condition
3. Raise your premiums
4. Cancel you your health insurance
5. Raise your premiums
6. Ration your health care
7. Raise your premiums
8. Deny t you health care
9. Raise your premiums
10. Refuse to admit that you have a health problem.
11. Refuse to accept the existence, truth, or validity of your problem

Lieberman
He is able to look at the facts and see that what this bill does is devastating to America. It fascinates me that the Left insists on science when talking about creation and evolution but when it comes to social programs, they are only too willing to ignore that very science. Just believe in a myth.

………………
Actually, Joe Lieberman is able to look at the facts, AND history and see that this bill may well be as popular with the American people as social security and medicare, AND as devastating to the parasites who donate to his campaign.
It amazes me that the right claims to care about cost containment and competition except when it comes to the predatory practices of millionaires and billionaires…..Just believe in the myth of a free market, but in practice want the government to provide socialism for the fat cats who bought and paid for them.
Joe Lieberman is basically saying….I’m for sale to the highest bidder….who is offering what??

john, you are the one believing the myths that the insurance industry is telling folks these days. The CBO concluded that the self-sustaining public option Reid wants will end up saving the govt money and lowering premiums, but hey us libs don’t believe in actual studies, just myths.

No. The CBO didn’t. See, the thing is that in order to pay for the savings, Reid cut payments to doctors for Medicare. Then they came behind and delayed that cut for 10 years.
Further, we are paying more and more taxes in order to “reduce” the government debt.
Make no mistake about it; this is a costly bill.

Actually it’s not really science but more importantly a little thing called ‘evidence’ and logic versus wishful thinking. Both the former are pillars of Science.
There is not one public health system in the world which is more costly than the private model we have. Even our own existing public system is less costly.
On top of the failure in cost comparison, there is a drastic failure on an ethical level. I’d much rather have the decision to pay for my healthcare made by a bureaucrat ultimately reporting to me and my fellow citizens versus a bureaucrat who ultimately reports to a small group of shareholders who want the bureaucrat to pay as little as possible towards my healthcare.
The free market is a tool, nothing more. It’s not perfect and time and time again has caused bad problems when it is not adequately regulated since it has no regard for what’s best for humanity and only whats best to make more money/wealth.
Joe Lieberman has sold out.

Show me the “myth”.
The myth here is that doing nothing in terms of federal reform is going to do anything but make insurance companies richer and have more Americans die every year from lack of care.
You are just pulling out the same tired old bag of tricks where you accuse the other side of exactly what you are guilty of in the extreme. You have learned the lie-trade well from your masters at FOX News. They do the same spin and twist for every issue they think are “too much” truth.
Show me the “devastation”.
Show me your data that continuing the corrupt system as it will do anything but promote death and greed.

Funny, but I’m not
unduly surprised.
Connecticut Joe is only
kicking the Dems where it hurts the most.
Just because he’s not
officially a Republican,
everyone expects him not to act like one?

You could do a whole book of verse with those vertical messages, couldn’t you, Anonymouse?

Lieberman lost his way a long time ago.
He has gotten so caught up in the game of politics he has forgotten what he is really in office to do.
The cache of honor gained when he criticized Superstar Bill Clinton for the Lewinsky affair wore off a long time ago.
Now Lieberman drifts aimlessly like a dandelion seed, landing here, landing there, being tossed with every passing breeze to somewhere different….

I never could understand what Joe was/is and why he commands attention. In the last four years , or so, he seems to have lost his moral compass(if he ever had one) and has just sold himself out to the highest bidder.

Lieberman is a traitor to the people. On the OTHER hand, he serves his real masters well – the insurance companies.
