Republicans Blocking Unemployment Benefits And It’s Getting Too Little Attention
Sue at Crooks and Liars rightly asks why this isn’t getting more media attention. At a time when 7000 Americans a day are losing benefits, the GOP is stalling on supporting a bill that would help them. Republicans have muddied up the bill with amendments having to do with ACORN and immigration, but having nothing to do with helping Americans. Minority leader Mitch McConnell is holding the agreement hostage to these unrelated issues.
Observers of the weeks-long debate might not be surprised to learn that the sticking points remain the same: McConnell is insisting on consideration of an amendment to prevent ACORN from receiving federal funds, and another designed to filter illegal immigrants out of the workforce. The Kentucky Republican said the eight amendments Republicans are offering won’t take much longer to consider than the six provisions Reid has proposed on behalf of Democrats.

They’re proving their barbaric lack of humanity by holding the unemployed hostage in hopes of using this bill as a bargaining chip to destroy health care reform.
And they should all die and rot in Hell.

The right: “Unemployment checks only pay people not to get motivated and go out to find a job. Luxurious unemployment benefits for the lazy people who lost a job only encourage these slackers to stay at home watching cable television on their big screen TVs and talking on their iPhones. Cut off their unemployment assistance and these lazy serfs will finally find new work, lowering the unemployment rate and boosting the economy.”

The right: “And don’t get us started on health insurance. The real problem with healthcare in America is that too many people are choosing to get sick. If less people got ill, healthcare costs would fall. The only reform we need is for the serfs to take some personal responsibility and choose to get ill less often.”

Actually, that was rather close to exactly what I hear in terms of “informed opinion” from conservatives.
Why not make a better point or clear it up?
Maybe because you’re all invested in destroying the poor and attacking any group that helps minorities like ACORN.
Evil monsters hiding the skins of humans … or something like that …

I watch/listen-to/read enough conservative media to know that’s not only close, but it’s dead on.
To a conservative mind, the unemployed are only the result of employers culling out the losers who need to now just find other work at less pay. The sick only got that way through their own poor lifestyle choices.
Serfs/lords. It’s how your brains are wired to see society.

do you guys even listen or read what you just posted…really, no sane rational person says anything even close to what I responded to…NOBODY thinks that there shouldn’t exist a mechanism in order to help those in need, some people will argue that it’s not the governments role to do so (right, wrong, or indifferent that’s their opinion) but the vast majority of people who oppose bills such as the one in question are trying to strike the balance between helping those that are in temporary need with those that are permanently in search of a free lunch. We have a long and expensive history of massive and widespread welfare fraud. In stead of trying to fix the root problem (jobs) we are raising and extending and including more and more people within the ranks of those that recieve free lunches. More and more even those with an averae wage job receives some sort of welfare assistance.

Why is anyone surprised? The Republicans have always been anti-human. The party of “NO” continues its’ disintegration down the the runway to hell.

The way I see it:
They are highly pro-human if you are rich and repeat the lies that promote their agenda.
They are anti-poor and anti-honesty which amounts to being anti-human ion regards to things like this.

This is why I hate and distrust Republicans.
They prove time and time again they are enemies of the poor and enemies of American families.
