Lieberman to Stump For GOP And May Not Seek Dem Nod In 2012
Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman told ABC News he will campaign for some Republicans during the 2010 midterm elections and may not seek the Democratic nomination when he runs for reelection in 2012. After pledging to be a loyal Democrat, Lieberman was permitted to retain his chairmanship of the Commerce Committee, but now says, “I probably will support some Republican candidates for Congress or Senate in the election in 2010. I’m going to call them as I see them.”
Asked if he will seek the Democratic nomination when he runs for re-election in 2012, Lieberman said, “That’s an open question.”
“There are options,” Lieberman said. “The other, obviously, is to just start as an independent, which is where I ended up in 2006.”
Lieberman does say he’ll support Democratic Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd in Dodd’s reelection bid in 2010.

He didn’t need when he won in 06.

He probably couldn’t get the Democratic nomination anyway. I’m sure he pissed off alot of Democratic supporters off when he courted the Republicans to win his seat.

A center right nation at elected Democrats into Congress and a Democratic President … because they like voting against their ideologies!?!
You have that standard-spin from the right that I just have no respect for.
It’s illogical and plain stupid, John.

social liberal but otherwise a right winger…. I am pretty sure that Joe represents a large portion of the U.S. populations views.

Only in your Fox News Dreamworld.
The fact is that most the country is divided on too many issues to say these easy (and stupid) terms like “right” or “left”.
It’s all baloney designed to keep you thinking that the world is a simple place of black & white.
It’s not.

Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman is owned by the insurance companies just like all the right wing media is as well.

It’s not like the party listens to me but I was saying this back when he was groveling to get back into the party.
I warned that he would just back-stab us again like he did with McCain. In fact I guaranteed it.
100% chance of Lieberman stabbing us in the backside.
And nobody listens.
Oh well, one day I’ll just run the DNC for myself and lo and behold … we will not stand for being pushed around anymore.

I actually am for this idea. I would love to see evidence of Eric actually DOING something.

‘Why can’t we put aside our differences and come together and solve problems’ translates practically into “bend over and let us pass our liberal crap with no oppositon.”

“bend over and let us pass our liberal crap with no oppositon.”
No thanks. We put up with the conservatives throwing their crap for the last eight years and didn’t like it.
