President Obama, speaking to a like-minded crowd in New Orleans, didn’t let them get away with booing Republican Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.

“(Black) Unhypenated American” Compares Limbaugh Bid Denial To “Lynching”

lloyd-marcus

Lloyd Marcus at the conservative magazine  American Thinker describes himself as a “(black) Unhyphenated American!”  Marcus says denying Limbaugh a chance to be an NFL team owner is worse than a lynching. And it’s apparently the left’s fault. Gee, I didn’t know that Roger Goodell and Jim Irsay were part of a vast left-wing conspiracy.

They did it to Rush Limbaugh. Who will be next? I am sure Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson and others on the Left are struggling to contain their overwhelming feelings of glee and power. They did it! Their campaign of lies and slander portraying Rush …

Jobless Claims At Lowest Level Since January

To quote what should be a country song title,”It Ain’t Good But It Ain’t Bad.”  There is a decline in jobless claims, which shows that companies are cutting fewer workers which, combined with household goods prices staying low, points to stability.

“Claims are not yet low enough to indicate rising payrolls, but they certainly suggest” that net job cuts will be lower in October than last month, Ian Shepherdson, chief U.S. economist at High Frequency Economics, wrote in a note to clients.

The tally of people continuing to claim benefits dropped by 75,000 to 5.99 million, its first …

Is Twitter Over? (I Say No)

twitter-logo3

Some celebrities are exiting the microblogging site.

Courtney Love has closed down her Twitter account just days after her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, went after Ali Lohan — Lindsay’s sister — on the micro-blogging service. Mother and daughter are both tweet-obsolete for the moment.

The development occurs as Miley Cyrus raps a good-bye ode to Twitter on YouTube and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, tries to guilt her into staying on Twitter.

But microblogging and probably Twitter is here to stay. It’s growing pains for a new medium.…

keyes-banner

Consumer education teacher Dave Burk of Geneva High School is accused of these comments during a lecture on tax dollars going to the National Endowment for the Arts.  (via Crooks and Liars).

“How would you feel about your tax dollars going to pay some black fag in New York to take pictures of other black fags?” Burk allegedly asked, according to student Jordan Hunter.

Burk’s attorney, D.J. Tegeler, said Monday he was not personally aware of the terms Burk used to his classes, but that Burk apologizes for any offense.

“Mr. Burk is cooperating fully with …

Oliver Willis has the ESPN story.

Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.

How Many Legendary Republicans Would Fit Today’s GOP?

Abraham_Lincoln_head_on_shoulders_photo_portrait5

Blue Texan at Firedoglake points to a new page on the GOP website called “Heroes.”  Here’s a sampling and some background as to why they’d never be part of today’s Republican party:

Susan B. Anthony: a feminist lesbian Unitarian civil rights leader from Massachusetts? Yeah, right.

Pinckney Pinchback: hard to tell, but he fought on the Union side during the Civil War, so I’m going to go with no.

Jackie Robinson: Oops.

Frederick Douglass: no [effing] way.

Edward Brooke: introduced legislation banning missile testing, championed Title IX and …

Michael Wolff: “Liz Cheney Is The New Dick”

art.lizcheney.gi

Newser’s Michael Wolff asks who the most venomous and pernicious person in American life is today.

That person who, without an iota of irony or self-dramatizing exaggeration (Rush Limbaugh, in that sense, is rather a kitten), really believes the nation has descended into a malignant state and can only be saved by baneful and constant censure?

Nominations?

Here’s mine: Liz Cheney.

Sour, wounded, aggrieved, graceless, paranoid (I’d guess), self-pitying, doubtless, extreme, aggressive, and defensive, she might literally kill you, and your kind, if she could…she went on a Sunday morning show (the Fox show, of course) to …

GOP Lawmaker Rips Obama While Wearing Cap Saying: “OPOSSUM The Other Dark Meat”

It is truly amazing that this gets elected to office.  Kansas State Rep. Bill Otto put out this video a few weeks ago, but it just crossed my screen, unfortunately.

UPDATE: As you can see above, the original video was pulled, reportedly by Otto’s daughters. Now he’s put up a revised version, including a new three-minute introduction:
