During the taping of his show for Monday night, he apologized to his wife, according to Radar Online.
Audience member Tracy Frye, of Dallas, Texas told RadarOnline.com: “David apologized to his wife and his colleagues at Worldwide Pants. He said he didn’t really think through what he said on-air last week and how it would affect his co-workers.” He also apologized because he now realized that people would speculate he was involved with women on the show with whom he had no sexual relationship.
According to Frye, “He made a direct apology to his wife and said: ‘I …

On ABC’s “This Week.”
“Roman Polanski is a criminal,” Roberts said on ABC’s “This Week.” “He raped and drugged and raped and sodomized a child. And then was a fugitive from justice. As far as I’m concerned, just take him out and shoot him.”
And yet, the victim herself wants the case dismissed.

Bush Treasury And Fed Lied To Get TARP Money

When we were told that the first nine banks to receive government bailout money were healthy last fall, we were lied to.
Neil Barofsky, the special inspector general for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (SIGTARP), says that despite multiple statements on Oct. 14 of last year that these nine banks were healthy and only receiving government funds for the good of the country’s economy, federal officials knew otherwise.
“Contemporaneous reports and officials’ statements to SIGTARP during this audit indicate that there were concerns about the health of several of the nine institutions at that time and, as detailed …

William K. Wolfrum wrote a piece last year that was picked up just now by TPM, called “Jesus Christ Quits Christianity After Viewing Republican Platform.” When I Tweeted this earlier, I received nasty comments from some conservatives.

For Sarah Palin, leaving the governorship seems to have been more about book and endorsement deals than anything else. Not that one can blame her for making a decision for her family that helps the bank account. But wouldn’t it have been great if her farewell speech consisted of three words: “I’m cashing in”?
“We hear…THAT Sarah Palin’s agents are seeking a beauty endorsement deal, pitching cosmetic companies to capitalize on her “lipstick on a pit bull” catchphrase.
Laffy picked up on The Hill story:
This would certainly help defray those legal expenses. But if the rumor …

Hoffmania looks at the New York Times story about what figured into the Olympics not coming to Chicago. It seems this part of the story was in an earlier version of the article, but not the current one.
In the official question-and-answer session following the Chicago presentation, Syed Shahid Ali, an I.O.C. member from Pakistan, asked the toughest question. He wondered how smooth it would be for foreigners to enter the United States for the Games because doing so can sometimes, he said, be “a rather harrowing experience.” …

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has rejected $300 million in stimulus money for a high-speed rail system between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Tom Atkinson of the state Department of Transportation and Development says it would be “a very valuable economic incubator for the entire corridor.”
Republican Congressman Anh “Joseph” Cao has appealed to Jindal to accept the stimulus money.
Cao, R-New Orleans, on Friday called on Jindal to apply for the money. Since all U.S. taxpayers will foot the bill for the stimulus spending, Cao said, the state’s elected officials should see that Louisiana gets its fair share.
“It’s …

A view of what is believed to be a uranium-enrichment facility near Qom, Iran, is seen in this satellite photograph released September 25, 2009.

If Iran follows through on its Geneva agreements we’re in much better shape.
The Iranians’ flexibility and the concrete proposals to which they agreed at the Geneva meeting will, if implemented, at least for the moment largely neutralize efforts to muster new sanctions, much less military action against Tehran — and all without necessarily changing the fundamentals of Iran’s nuclear output.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was born Jewish and converted to Islam, according to the London Daily Telegraph, which has a photo of the Iranian president holding up his identity card during the 2008 election.
A close-up of the document reveals he was previously known as Sabourjian – a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver.
