39 Dallas Drivers Ticketed For Not Speaking English

During the past three years, 39 Dallas drivers were wrongfully stopped and ticketed for the offense of not speaking English.  Police chief David Kunkle (right) is investigating, and those who paid the $204 fine will be reimbursed.

The citations were issued in several different patrol divisions by at least six different officers. One of those officers was responsible for five of the citations, Kunkle said.

Clarence Thomas Criticizes Fellow Justices For Badgering Attorneys

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who hasn’t asked a question in four years, criticized his colleagues for being too aggressive in questioning rather than allowing attorneys to speak.

“So why do you beat up on people if you already know? I don’t know, because I don’t beat up on ‘em. I refuse to participate. I don’t like it, so I don’t do it,” Thomas said during an appearance before law students at the University of Alabama.

Two rival groups are seeking to acquire the .gay Internet suffix from the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

The Dot Gay Alliance (dotgay.org), out of New York City, is being led by a longtime gay activist. And dotGay (dotgay.com) is being spearheaded by a heterosexual German man in Riga, Latvia, who has incorporated a company in San Francisco.

RIP Soupy Sales 1926-2009

Soupy Sales gone at age 83.

Sales died at Thursday night at Calvary Hospice in the Bronx, New York, said his former manager and longtime friend, Dave Usher. Sales had many health problems and entered the hospice last week, Usher said.

At the peak of his fame in the 1950s and ’60s, Sales was one of the best-known faces in the nation, Usher said.
