David H. Safavian, the top procurement official at the General Services Administration in the Bush43 administration, was sentenced to a year in prison for lying about his ties to lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Mr. Safavian, ex-chief of staff at the General Services Administration, was accused of hiding his efforts to help Mr. Abramoff win federal business. He was convicted in December of obstruction of justice and making false statements.…

Scott Stevens, who used to work as a storm chaser with Richard Heene (right), says what happened to Balloon Dad’s son was likely a publicity stunt.

Louisiana Justice Of The Peace Denies Interracial Couple Marriage License

Keith Bardwell, Justice of the Peace in Tangipahoa Parish, has refused to issue a marriage license to Beth Humphrey and Terrence McKay because he says these marriages don’t last long and he’s concerned for any potential children they may have.
