Biden On Cheney: He’s Either “Misinformed Or He Is Misinforming”

Vice President Joe Biden commented on his predecessor’s criticism of the Obama administration’s terrorism policies, saying on “Meet the Press” that Cheney is either “misinformed or he is misinforming.” Cheney has accused Obama of “trying to pretend” we’re not at war with terrorist and has claimed we’re less safe as a result. Biden says Cheney is trying to rewrite history.
Biden said that under Obama’s direction, the U.S. has been more successful at killing al-Qaida leaders and their followers than it was during the years George W. Bush and Cheney were in the White House.
“We’ve eliminated 12 of their …

A CBS poll reveals that when asked whether the Obama administration, raised, lowered, or kept taxes the same for most Americans, only 12% get the answer correct: taxes were decreased.
• 24 percent of respondents said they INCREASED taxes.
• 53 percent said they kept taxes the same
• And 12 percent said taxes were decreased.
Of people who support the grassroots, “Tea Party” movement, only 2 percent think taxes have been decreased, 46 percent say taxes are the same, and a whopping 44 percent say they believe taxes have gone up.
Tax cuts were expansive, in that they …

How can we ignore the most romantic day of the year here at Liberaland? British department store Debenhams is having a surge (you’ll pardon the expression) in sales with its $28/pair enhancing underwear. (So as not to be too graphic, I’ve put up Sponge Bob underwear instead.)
The pants work by using a lift and hold feature at the front, like a male version of the cleavage-boosting Wonderbra.
“The briefs mean that no man ever needs to feel inadequate again on the most passionate day of the social calendar,” said Rob Faucherand, head of men’s accessories buying at Debenhams.…

You’re going to be saved by Jesus when the rapture comes; but what about your pet? Bart Centre of New Hampshire has created Eternal Earth-Bound Pets, so that when you are spirited away your furry friend will also be saved.
Promoted on the Web as “the next best thing to pet salvation in a Post Rapture World,” the service has attracted more than 100 clients, who pay $110 for a 10-year contract ($15 for each additional pet.) If the Rapture happens in that time, the pets left behind will have homes—with atheists. Centre has set up a national …

Republicans suddenly are aghast that health care reform will result in cutting a program they were never really for. Paul Krugman explains how remarkable it is that this is the same group that shut down the government in 1995 to try to get Bill Clinton to accept cuts in the program.
…what’s truly mind-boggling is this: Even as Republicans denounce modest proposals to rein in Medicare’s rising costs, they are, themselves, seeking to dismantle the whole program. And the process of dismantling would begin with spending cuts of about $650 billion over the next decade. Math is hard, but I …

New Hampshire State Senator Nancy Elliot felt the need to describe, in graphic detail, just how gay sex is conducted, during a hearing to repeal same-sex marriage.
“We’re talking about taking the penis of one man and putting it in the rectum of another man and wriggling it around in excrement. ” Rep. Elliott said. “And you have to think, I’m not sure, would I allow that to be done to me?”
She went on in this same vein until interrupted by someone off camera. “Representative Elliott… Let’s keep our discussion directly to the bill.”
Rep. Elliott, however, was …

The single mom who was facing a court martial because a lack of child care prevented her from going off to war is being discharged instead, but not without consequences.
Spc. Alexis Hutchinson, an Army cook stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, was arrested in November after skipping her unit’s deployment flight. Hutchinson, 21, said she couldn’t leave her son because her mother had backed out of plans to keep the child a few days before the soldier’s scheduled departure.
The Army filed criminal charges last month against Hutchinson of Oakland, Calif., but a general at neighboring Fort Stewart chose …

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid stunned many of his colleagues by doing a sudden about-face on the $85 billion jobs bill.
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) worked for weeks with Reid’s blessing and frequent involvement to craft an $85 billion jobs bill, a measure that seemed destined to break the partisan logjam that has ground the Senate to a halt.
But as Baucus, Grassley and President Barack Obama were preparing to celebrate a rare moment of bipartisan Kumbaya on Thursday, Reid stunned a meeting of Senate Democrats by announcing he was scrapping Baucus-Grassley, …

Debra Medina, a tea party activist who is challenging Rick Perry for the Republican nomination for governor of Texas, was unable to say for sure whether the government was involved in 9/11 when asked by radio host Glenn Beck. (via Think Progress)
BECK: Do you believe the government was any way involved with the bringing down of the World Trade Centers on 9/11?
MEDINA: I don’t, I don’t have all of the evidence there, Glenn. So I don’t I’m not in a place, I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some very good questions …
