Palin Defends Limbaugh Calling Liberals “Retards”

While continuing to attack Rahm Emanuel, who apologized, for using the phrase “f-ing retards” when referring to liberal activists, Sarah Palin defended its use by Rush Limbaugh as “satire” on Fox News Sunday.

But the former governor went to great and sometimes awkward lengths to insist that when conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh used the same exact term to describe the same exact group, it was simply in the role of political humorist.

“They are kooks, so I agree with Rush Limbaugh,” she said, when read a quote of Limbaugh calling liberal groups “retards.” “Rush Limbaugh was using satire …

Palin Mocks Obama For Teleprompter, Reads Notes Off Hand

2010-02-07-palinhandsmaller1

During the Q&A following her speech, Sarah Palin appeared to be reading notes off her hand. A close inspection captured in photos by Huffington Post make the case.

As noted by Oliver Willis, Palin refers to President Obama as “a guy with a teleprompter,” while depending on her own “palm pilot.”

Here’s the Q&A in real time:

Palin Tea Party Speech: Long On Attack, Short On Policy

3d419b46-be89-4ce0-b99f-d3dbdb83f135-small

Sarah Palin’s speech at the  expensive tea party convention in Nashville was more an attack on President Obama than a blueprint for what conservatives need to do to moving forward. To flag-waving, cheers, an standing ovations, Palin pleased the crowd with her broadsides.

Noting his party’s dismal showing in elections since Obama moved into the White House a year ago with talk of hope and promises of change, Palin asked the gathering: “How’s that hope-y, change-y stuff workin’ out for you?”

While this was opportunity to establish herself as a serious, policy-focused potential candidate of the future, her rhetoric seemed …

Utah State Rep: Climate Change Is Conpiracy To Control Populaton

horseback

The Utah House Natural Resources Committee passed a resolution to urge the EPA not to regulate pollution that causes climate change “until a full and independent investigation of the climate data conspiracy and global warming science can be substantiated.” When the “conspiracy” wording was questioned by some members, Rep. Mike Noel claimed that it was a plot to control population. (via Think Progress)

But Noel defended the “conspiracy” wording, pointing to an out-of-print textbook, Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment , written in the 1970s by biologist Paul Ehrlich, Ehrlich’s wife, Anne, and physicist John Holdren about the potential hazards …

More Joe Farrah From Tea Party: Birth Of Jesus Was Documented, Unlike Obama

In a part of his speech that sounded more like an evangelical sermon than a political summoning, WorldNetDaily’s Joseph Farrah used Jesus to bash Obama about his supposed lack of a birth certificate.

“The most important birth in history, that of Jesus of Nazareth, was so well documented, unlike Barack Obama,”  Farrah says, reasoning that there are two separate and distinct records, one going back to Adam and one to Abraham.  Farrah then offers this additional “proof”: “Even if there were no birth certificates maintained in ancient Israel, there’s no doubt about where he was born.”

WND’s Joe Farrah To Tea Party: Obama And Congress Out To Destroy America

Joe Farrah of WorldNetDaily says President Obama and the Democratic Congress “are following a deliberate course to destroy the American enterprise system, your freedom, and the American way of life.”  Farrah says one problem is,”The American government has become less and less friendly to God because the government wants to be your God.”

Farrah concludes by saying,”We have to stay focused on reality and not live in a fantasy world. I live in that world of reality every day. That’s what we try to bring you at WorldNetDaily.com.”  Really? How about this one about martial law coming to America, or …

Louisiana Student Sent Home For Wearing Colts Jersey

coltsjersey

Maurepas High School students were given permission to wear Saints jerseys and t-shirts instead of the usual school uniforms, but Brandon Frost, who is from Indianapolis, wore a Colts jersey instead.

But Frost didn’t even have time to sit down in his first-period English class before the principal of his Livingston Parish school yanked him out of class and told him he was being sent home for the day because of his choice in attire.

Frost and his family said that the decision was unfair, since the teenager’s fellow students were allowed to support their team, and the Colts …

Is Health Care Reform Dead?

President Obama, who just Thursday said, “We’ve got to finish the job,” on health care reform, acknowledges the effort could die on the Hill.

“And it may be that … if Congress decides we’re not going to do it, even after all the facts are laid out, all the options are clear, then the American people can make a judgment as to whether this Congress has done the right thing for them or not,” the president said. “And that’s how democracy works. There will be elections coming up, and they’ll be able to make a determination and register their …

The Government Has Your Baby’s DNA

t1larg.ep_.gov_.dna_

Mandated by the government, babies in the US are screened for genetic diseases, often without the consent of parents, and information is stored by the state.

Parents in Texas, and Minnesota have filed lawsuits, and these parents’ concerns are sparking a new debate about whether it’s appropriate for a baby’s genetic blueprint to be in the government’s possession.

According to the state of Minnesota’s Web site, samples are kept so that tests can be repeated, if necessary, and in case the DNA is ever need to help parents identify a missing or deceased child. The samples are also used …
