Last week the Huffington Post reported a story outlining shocking behavior of Tea Party protesters against House Democrats preceding the president’s speech on March 20th. One of Rep. James Clyburn’s (D-SC) staffers reported that Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) had been spat on by one of the protesters. Tea Party groups have since denied this claim, going so far as to offer a cash reward for proof of the incident.
Today that proof has emerged. Huffington Post has the video.
Criminal and civil law outlines spitting upon a person as battery. If a person even threatens to spit upon another person and is found to have HIV/AIDS, this could be considered assault.
We’ll be sure to let you know if the Huffington Post actually collects their reward from the Tea Party groups.
