A Twitter User Celebrates Olbermann’s Father’s Death with His Hatred
In similar fashion to an earlier story, it has come to my attention that a fellow blogger and “Twitterer” recently encountered an extreme level of hatred and abuse when she ran across the Twitter account TonyPagano51. In addition to referring to President Obama and others with a slew of slanderous terms, this person mocked and laughed at Keith Olbermann’s dedication to his dying father, then wished death upon the man: “Die Bitch, Die, H”.

Texas Senator John Cornyn, who heads the National Republican Senatorial Committee, isn’t having as much success with his candidates as Jim DeMint, the further-right senator who is betting on tea party contenders.
It’s a split illustrating the deep divisions in the Republican party as it seems Washington’s establishment miscalculated who would be the better candidates from California to Florida.
[Florida's Marco] Rubio (pictured) is the best example, as Florida Gov. Charlie Crist’s support – especially among Republicans – has plunged this year. That’s one reason why NRSC Chairman John Cornyn is singing Rubio’s praises and promising not to bash him …

Democrats need a minimum of 216 votes to pass the Health Care Bill, and House Democratic Whip James Clyburn tells NBC’s “Meet the Press” they’re not quite there, although he’s confident they’ll have no trouble getting the votes by zero hour.
White House advisor David Axelrod weighs in on CNN’s “State of the Union”:
“I think we will have the votes to pass this,” Axelrod said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Although Republicans have used reconciliation on numerous occasions in the past to pass non-budgetary legislation, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham condemns its use in this instance …

Virginia Lamp Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, has started something called Liberty Central Inc because of President Obama’s “hard-left agenda.” (h/t The Political Carnival)
“I am an ordinary citizen from Omaha, Neb., who just may have the chance to preserve liberty along with you and other people like you,” she said at a recent panel discussion with tea party leaders in Washington. Thomas went on to count herself among those energized into action by President Obama’s “hard-left agenda.”
An “ordinary citizen,” that is, whose husband just happens to be a justice of the United States Supreme …

April Washington-Essex, who runs Habakkuk Music, didn’t option a second album by performer Isaiah D. Thomas because, she says, God has not told her to move on it yet.
“I have been seeking God about the timing of your next recording. To date, God has not confirmed His approval for Habakkuk Music to participate,” she wrote to Thomas, according to a lawsuit he filed last week in Manhattan federal court.
Thomas’ attorney, Chris Brown, said he had never seen a “God clause” invoked to end a contract.
Essex says she wasn’t ending Thomas’s contract, just waiting for a signal …

I apparently have gotten under Dan Riehl’s skin. Amazingly, I’ve done it, according to Riehl, without saying too much. But if all I did is basically link him without saying much, as he claims, to quote Robert Young in those old Sanka commercials, “Why so tense?”
But then, who but a moron would play Left-wing knock down, stand-up doll on Fox with Hannity for years. Did I look stupid enough for you tonight, Sean? Tell me, huh? Did I? Did I, huh? I’ll do my special stupid act for the Chirstmas show if you want! feh

Dan Riehl’s desperate attempt for attention (he’s getting it) with his vile comments about Harry Reid’s wife is being defended by the right as being “satire.” Somehow, I don’t see how calling for euthanizing Harry Reid’s ailing wife is satirical. Matt Sussman at Technorati puts it well:
I squint carefully, I can see how in a macabre way how right-wing readers might enjoy this type of writing, especially if they believe that the current health care proposals will lead to euthanasia of senior citizens. And I’m all for creative elucidations, but when the tastelessness outweighs the substance, it’s generally a …

North Carolina state Representative Bill Current wasn’t enthusiastic about his invitation to a celebration of women’s history at the state Museum of History. His e-mail response to the event organizers (or so he thought):
“Thanks for your kind invitation. However, I must regret for I have promised to be at the organizational meeting of the ‘White male’ history society. Sincerely, WAC.”
Oops. Current hit “Reply All,” so pretty much the entire state House received his response. The woman who initiated the invite, an African-American, was shocked by the response.
Ms. Jill Dinwiddie, executive director of the state …

Former Air Force Sergeant Jene Newsome was discharged under the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy because police saw a marriage license at her home when they were there with an arrest warrant for her partner on theft charges. The Rapid City, SD police informed the Ellsworth Air Force Base, which then took action against Newsome.
Newsome and the American Civil Liberties Union have filed a complaint against the department claiming police invaded her privacy.
Rapid City Police Chief Steve Allender says Newsome was uncooperative, and the marriage license was relevant because it established the residency and the relationship of the …
