Sarah Palin “Unloads” On Her Facebook Page

palin

by Thomas Wellborn

In a sad and slightly amusing attempt to strike back at liberals who condemn the use of her recent violent language, Sarah Palin has taken to what I believe to be satire in a recent Facebook blog entry: “Warning: Subject to New Politically Correct Language Police Censorship“:

March Madness battles rage! My family and I join millions of Americans enjoying college basketball’s finest through March Madness. Underdogs always get my vote as we watch intense competition bring out the best in these accomplished teams.

The Final Four is an intense, contested series (kind …

Sarah Palin Lauds “The Constitution,” Then Says We Don’t Need Someone Who Taught It Running The Country

searchlightRally

Pandering to the tea party crowd in Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s hometown of Searchlight, Nevada, Sarah Palin yells about “the Constitution…it’s The Constitution!” She retreads the line, “We need a commander-in-chief not a constitutional law professor lecturing us from a lectern.” Signs abounded with sayings like, “I honor the Constitution,” and “What about the Constitution don’t you understand?” I guess that means someone who taught and understands the Constitution is overqualified to lead the executive branch of government.

What’s that in front of the former governor in the video? Why it’s a…lectern!

Obama To Troops In Afghanistan: “I Have No Greater Honor Than Serving As Your Commander-In-Chief”

100328_obama_afghanistan_328

President Obama spoke to the troops in Afghanistan during his surprise visit, and during a 20-minute address thanked them, saying, “Those folks back home are relying on you.”

We can’t forget why we’re here. We did not choose this war. This was not an act of America wanting to expand its influence; of us wanting to meddle in somebody else’s business. We were attacked viciously on 9/11. Thousands of our fellow countrymen and women were killed. And this is the region where the perpetrators of that crime, al Qaeda, still base their leadership.

Plots against our homeland, plots against our …

Video Of Tea Party Protester Spitting On Congressman. Do You Believe It Now?

by Thomas Wellborn

Last week the Huffington Post reported a story outlining shocking behavior of Tea Party protesters against House Democrats preceding the president’s speech on March 20th. One of Rep. James Clyburn’s (D-SC) staffers reported that Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) had been spat on by one of the protesters.  Tea Party groups have since denied this claim, going so far as to offer a cash reward for proof of the incident.

Today that proof has emerged.  Huffington Post has the video.

Criminal and civil law outlines spitting upon a person as battery.  If a person even threatens to …

Obama Makes Surprise Visit To Afghanistan

44140130_44733735001_1013dv-pol-obama-afghanistan-SJ-s260608AT1VW104

President Obama made an unannounced visit to Afghanistan Sunday, visiting a war he inherited and escalated.

After an overnight flight from Washington, the president landed in Afghanistan for a stay of just a few hours, all in darkness. He flew by helicopter from Bagram Air Field to the capital, where he was meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and with his Cabinet, at the presidential palace.

Obama had gone Friday afternoon to the presidential retreat at Camp David, Md., from which unnoticed departures are easier because of its secluded mountain location. The small contingent of White House aides and …

Erick Erickson: Because There’s No Video Of N-Word Hurled At Cong. John Lewis, “It Didn’t Happen”

cover_erick-erickson108

Erick Erickson on CNN claims that because there is no video of John Lewis being called the n-word, it didn’t happen.

ERICKSON: Well you know I think it’s very hard to throw the circuit breaker when you have got Democrats making disingenuous arguments, making claims that aren’t existing. I mean take, for example, the John Lewis racial epithet that all the video shows didn’t happen or the Sarah Palin nonsense that she’s putting targets on Democratic districts. That’s been going on since I’ve been in politics for the last decade and a half.

What’s that again? The “video …

Tea Party Leader Who Held “N-Word” Sign Denies Seeing Racial Slurs At Tea Party Events

teapartypic

Dale Robertson, who claims he is the tea party founder, and  was seen holding a sign using the “n” word earlier this year,  blames Democrats for doing what tea partiers are accused of and says he’s never seen racial slurs on his side.

“These people could be anybody. I wouldn’t put it past the Democrats to plant somebody there,” Mr. Robertson said. “They’re trying to label the tea party, but I’ve never seen any racial slurs.”

It’s amazing that the purveyors of racism and hate can say these things with a straight face. At the very least, you would hope …

Gingrich Blames Democrats For Vandalism and Threats Against Democrats

newnewtetet

If only Democrats and their leaders didn’t force America to have health care reform and act so arrogantly, they wouldn’t have created so much anger and these incidents could have been avoided.  That is the opinion of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich who said as much at an anti-health care reform rally with Georgia Governor Sonny Purdue. After saying, “There’s no place for viciousness against Democrats,” that comment was mitigated by what followed:

I think the Democratic leadership has to take some moral responsibility for having behaved with such arrogance, in such a hostile way, that the American people are

Right Wing Encouraging Violence, “Riots” and “Revolution”; Showing Images Of Rape

twitter-20100321-drawnquartered

by Thomas Wellborn

A trip around the innertubes shows a not-very-pretty compilation of language and postings by those on the right whose incendiary imagery is troubling.  Even some respectable conservative leaders have used language which might give aid and comfort to some the wackos whose unstable behavior we’ve witnessed of late in the form of phone calls and mailings to congresspeople that paint a dark picture of those who lost the health care debate.

These statements are protected by free speech rights, of course, and yet when liberals have made extreme statements or done extreme actions, their free speech …

Mandate That Americans Buy Health Insurance Originated With GOP

capt.e6e94861a07c4afc890524abd410c75a-e6e94861a07c4afc890524abd410c75a-0

The part of the health care overhaul about which Republicans object the most was one they originated.  They have likened the requirement that Americans have health insurance to fascism and tyranny, but never used those terms when they proposed it. And it was proposed as an alternative to President Clinton’s attempted health care overhaul.  Republicans were for it before they were against it.

Mitt Romney, weighing another run for the GOP presidential nomination, signed such a requirement into law at the state level as Massachusetts governor in 2006. At the time, Romney defended it as “a personal responsibility …

Heckler Forcibly Ejected From McCain-Palin Rally

contessa

In her second day of campaigning for John McCain’s reelection bid, Sarah Palin told a heckler, “Stick around, and listen to what we’re gonna say. Sir, maybe you might learn somethin’.” (conspicuously dropping the final “g”.) But the rowdy crowd didn’t want him to stick around, and dragged him out by his arms.  After the man was gone, Palin pulled out the old, “John McCain spent years as a POW to defend his constitutional rights” routine.  Apparently, those rights don’t include being allowed to dissent without being physically removed. Neither Palin nor McCain lifted a finger or raised a …
