Georgia Congressman Paul Broun Insists Bill Covers Illegal Immigrants, Even As He Admits It Says It Doesn’t

Congressman Paul Broun of Georgia guested with me in the Strategy Room at FOXNews.com and continued to repeat right-wing talking points that do not represent what the bill actually says.  He claimed people would be forced out of private insurance, even though it is clear that you get to keep your current plan.

Rep. Weiner’s Office Receives Package With White Powder, “DROP DEAD” Note

Yesterday, Congressman Anthony Weiner’s Kew Gardens office received a package containing white powder and a note saying Weiner should “drop dead,” along with rants about the new health care legislation passed this week by Congress.  Initial tests of the powder have shown it to be harmless, but further testing is being done as a precaution.

Congresswoman Sent Condom With Note: “Betty McCollum You’ve Been Dry F***** By The Liberal Party.”

Minnesota Congresswoman Betty McCollum received a condom in the mail with an anonymous note saying “Betty McCollum you’ve been dry f***** by the liberal party.”

The condom had been removed from its original packaging and placed in a plastic bag, according to McCollum’s district director. McCollum’s office said the U.S. Capitol Police and local law enforcement are investigating the package along with another one received Thursday.

It’s unusual for a candidate or, worse, an entire political party, to define its message as being against something, but that’s just what Republicans are doing.  Congress has now completed its work on health care reform, and the GOP is hanging its hat on working against what was just accomplished.

Two Pennsylvania Congresspeople, John Boccieri and Kathy Dahlkemper, have received threats because of voting for health care reform.

“Having flown missions in and out of Iraq and Afghanistan, I know what it’s like to be in harm’s way,” said Boccieri, an Air Force Reserve pilot based at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna. “But I never imagined serving in Congress could feel the same.”

Eric Cantor Accuses Democrats Of “Fanning The Flames” Of Threats

In his news conference today, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor made a partisan issue of threats he’s received, accusing Democrats of “dangerously fanning the flames” by blaming Republicans.
