The Pentagon has rescinded its offer to include Franklin Graham, son of Billy, in its National Day of Prayer celebration.  This comes after objections were raised by advocacy groups because of Graham’s past comments about Islam, including calling the religion “evil.” Graham told FOX News this week he hopes Muslims will find Jesus.

“I want them to know they don’t have to die in a car bomb, they don’t have to die some kind of Holy War to be accepted by God, but it’s through faith in Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone,” Graham said Thursday.

These kinds of comments don’t sit will with those who are more inclusive.

“Promoting one’s own religious beliefs is something to be defended and encouraged, but other faiths should not be attacked or misrepresented in the process,” said Nihad Awad, CAIR’s national executive director, after the military’s reversal.
