Arizona Deputy Shot By Alleged Illegal Immigrant

A Pinal County sheriff’s deputy was shot, allegedly by a member of a group of illegal immigrants.  Lt. Tammy Villar, a spokesperson for the sheriffs, says the unidentified deputy is being treated for his wounds, and that the shooter used an AK-47.

Villar said the deputy was working alone when he stopped two suspects and one of them reportedly pulled out an AK47 assault rifle, shooting the deputy in the abdomen.
