Michele Bachmann Accuses Bill Clinton Of “Celebrating” The Oklahoma City Bombing

Former President Bill Clinton spoke about the parallels between the atmosphere that existed at the time of the Oklahoma City bombing and now, and that politicians shouldn’t fuel hate.  For some reason, Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann decided that the speech was about her.  Bachmann decided Clinton was trying to “take [her] out” for calling the Clinton administration a “gangster government.”

A Bush Interviews A Clinton

Jenna Bush Hager, a teacher by trade, a presidential daughter and granddaughter by birth, and a Today Show contributor, interviewed former President Bill Clinton in Miami.

[She] thanked Clinton for engaging in the “rarity” of “a Bush interviewing a Clinton.” Clinton joked in response: “I was thinking, you know, if your family fed in questions I’d be cooked.”

“No, no. They love you,” said Hager. “In fact, they joke that you’re my grandfather’s stepson … because he talks about you more than he talks about anyone else in the family.”

Governor McDonnell’s Proposed Budget Cuts

Virginia’s Republican Governor Bob McDonnell did some work on his state’s budget recently. In an effort to reduce costs, state employees will no longer have insurance coverage for non-drowsy antihistamines and drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction.

McDonnell’s move duplicates the actions of former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine (D), and the change to the state’s insurance formulary is alleged to save approximately $7 million in the present budget. Lawmakers, who previously restored the insurance benefit under Kaine, will have an opportunity to review the budget proposal this week.

Iranian Cleric: Promiscuous Women Cause Earthquakes

A senior Iranian cleric blames women who wear immodest clothing for the occurrence of earthquakes.

“Many women who do not dress modestly … lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes,” Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was quoted as saying by Iranian media. Sedighi is Tehran’s acting Friday prayer leader.

Comcast Denies Ties To RightNetwork

Comcast is denying it has any involvement in RightNetwork, which is looking to appeal to conservatives on television, online, and via mobile.

Comcast, which is seeking government approval of its purchase of NBC Universal, shot down the claims swiftly on Monday. “The blog reports that Comcast is an investor in, or partner of the RightNetwork are inaccurate,” a Comcast spokeswoman, Jennifer Khoury, said. “We have no partnership with this venture and have no plans to launch or distribute the network.”

The spokeswoman said Comcast had met with the RightNetwork’s representatives, “as we have done with hundreds of other content providers.”…
