Judge Andrew Napolitano: Law “A Disaster For Arizona”; Governor “Will Bankrupt The State”
My FOX News colleague, Judge Andrew Napolitano, correctly calls out the governor of Arizona for her bone-headed decision that “will bankrupt the state,” and is likely unconstitutional.
(h/t Crooks and Liars)
Napolitano: She’s gonna bankrupt the Republican Party and the state of Arizona. Look at what happened to the Republicans in California with the proposition –
[Neil] Cavuto: What happens?
Napolitano: Ah, Hispanics — who have a natural home in the Republican Party because they are socially conservative — will flee in droves. She’s also gonna bankrupt her state, because no insurance company will provide …

Much of the chatter on the Arizona anti-immigration stunt raises the question of enforcing existing laws against hiring undocumented aliens. At the heart of the thing, there’s an economic dynamic, so let’s think about this in terms of supply and demand. Oh, and it’s sort of about racism, too.
People from other countries risk life and limb to come to America and work. Some steal, and some kill, but some of our fine home-grown citizens steal and kill, sometimes each other.
So, let’s assume that the percentage of criminals is roughly the same across all categories of …

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, who has his eyes on the Republican nomination for president, says Franklin Graham can be forgiven for calling Islam an evil religion because they were made “in the heat of an attack” on America. The Pentagon recently rescinded an invitation for Graham to speak on National Prayer Day.
SANTORUM: What Franklin Graham has done, is he made a statement in the heat of an attack on this county by people who were Jihadists, and it was a reasonable statement at the time. And I think Franklin Graham has done everything over the last ten …

Now that Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has enacted into law SB 1070, Arizona, the state that refused to recognize Martin Luther King Day until 1992 because of threats of a tourist boycott, has the strictest immigration rules in the country. And that’s because it:

Daily Beast: John Edwards To Testify Under Oath About Relationship With Rielle Hunter

Diane Dimond at The Daily Beast is reporting that former Senator John Edwards will testify under oath as to whether campaign funds were used to hide his relationship with Rielle Hunter. Also expected will be information about an alleged sex tape. The case is Rielle Hunter v. Andrew Young. And a federal grand jury is looking into how campaign funds were used.
Young appeared at all five hearings held in Superior Court in Hillsborough, North Carolina. He testified at three of them. Rielle Hunter never once appeared in court. Finally, Judge Abraham Penn Jones became satisfied that all her property …

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has signed a bill that will allow enforcement officers to stop anyone in Arizona and demand documentation proving their legal presence in the U.S. This is the toughest anti-immigrant bill in the country, and will likely incur lawsuits that will cost Arizona taxpayers millions of dollars.
Immigrants will be required to carry alien registration documents at all time that would prove their legal status. So what happens when someone is stopped who is here legally and has no papers available?
“Respect for the rule of law means respect for every law,” said Brewer, a Republican. “People …

What century is it again? And what country are we in? Ronnie Lee Gardner, 49, who was convicted in the killing of an attorney during an escape 25 years ago, will be executed by a five-person firing squad. Gardner was given the option of that or lethal injection, but told Judge Robin Reese, “I would like the firing squad, please.”
Of the 35 states with the death penalty on the books, Utah is the only one to use the firing squad as a method of execution since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated capital punishment in 1976.
Two men have …

In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Rush Limbaugh continues the oft-stated right-wing talking point that people on his political side of the fence love America much more than do liberals.
Now the liberals run the government and they’re using their power to implement their radical agenda. Mr. Obama and his party believe that the election of November 2008 entitled them to make permanent, “transformational” changes to our society. In just 16 months they’ve added more than $2 trillion to the national debt, essentially nationalized the health-care system, the student-loan industry, and have their sights set on draconian cap-and-trade …
