I’m not sure what relevance it is whether Miss Oklahoma, Morgan Elizabeth Woolard, supports Arizona’s new immigration law.  Woolard finished first-runner-up to Rima Fakih of Michigan in the Miss USA Pageant, and conspiracy theorists are opining that her support of the strict immigration law hurt her chances for the top prize. Oscar Nunez of The Office asked Woolard her position on racial profiling and Arizona’s SB1070. Woolard’s answer:

“I’m a huge believer in states’ rights. I think that’s what’s so wonderful about America,” Woolard said. “So I think it’s perfectly fine for Arizona to create that law.”

Woolard went on to say she opposes profiling.

Just as Carrie Prejean’s answer raised questions, particularly among conservatives, about whether her politics stood in the way of her taking top prize, the same questions are now being asked about Woolard.
