Pat Robertson To Woman Whose Husband Flirts With Other Women: Make Yourself More Attractive And Don’t Hassle Him

On the 700 Club, Pat Robertson reads a letter from a woman upset that her husband flirts with other women. His answer indicates he believes it’s the woman’s fault (h/t Think Progress).
CO-HOST: Pat, this is from Anne who says, “My husband has always been a flirt and loves to talk with other women he finds attractive. He says he would never cheat on me but his actions are starting to get to me. What should I do?”
ROBERTSON: Anne, first thing is you need to make yourself as attractive as possible and don’t hassle him about …

Georgia Republican Congressman Paul Broun, already infamous for saying the pubic option for health care would kill people, now says energy legislation, and who refers to the Civil War as “the Great War of Yankee Aggression,” now says if Congress passes a clean energy bill, “people are gonna die.”
BROUN: A lot of old people in Georgia and Florida and all out throughout the southeast and the southwest are dependent on air conditioning just to live. And if their electricity bills go sky high, as the energy tax is gonna make it happen, if that ever …

As we first reported in May, the primary authors of Arizona’s controversial immigration law are targeting what they refer to as “anchor babies”, not a very nice term for the children of illegal immigrants.
Arizona Republicans will likely introduce legislation this fall that would deny birth certificates to children born in Arizona – and thus American citizens according to the U.S. Constitution – to parents who are not legal U.S. citizens. The law largely is the brainchild of state Sen. Russell Pearce, a Republican whose suburban district, Mesa, is considered the conservative bastion of the Phoenix political scene. He is …

The woman accusing South Carolina Senate candidate Alvin Greene of showing her pornographic pictures spoke to Shephard Smith on FOX News (h/t Mediaite).
Camille McCoy was the 19-year-old accusing Greene of the crime. According to Smith, this took place in October in a college computer lab. “Dude comes up and says do you like football,” said Shep, and showed her a picture. “When you looked at the pictures what did he show you?” asked Smith.
McCoy: It was porn.
Smith: What do you mean it was porn? Help us understand specifically without skeeving us out.
McCoy: It was woman …

The more we see of Alvin Greene, the more there are calls to investigate just how he wound up with the Democratic nomination to face Senator Jim DeMint in South Carolina. Greene, who has refused to discuss felony charges against him and how he left the military “involuntarily” has claimed that he paid the filing fee to run out of his own pocket. Congressman James Clyburn of his state isn’t buying it.
Mr. Clyburn, the House Democratic majority whip, called for a federal investigation because of reports that Mr. Greene, who told television reporters and others that he is unemployed, …

Now we hear that the impact of the oil spill will be much worse than we originally were told.
New numbers showing the amount of oil gushing from a well in the Gulf of Mexico may be double as much as previously thought means the crude is likely to travel farther away, threatening more birds, fish and other wildlife that call the fragile waters their home, scientists said Friday.
The new figures could mean 42 million gallons to more than 100 million gallons of oil have already fouled the Gulf’s delicate ecosystem and are affecting people who live, work and …

We’ve already highlighted how Sharron Angle, Harry Reid’s opponent in the November Nevada Senate race, doesn’t like that liquor is legal. She has also spoken out against fluoride in the water supply. Angle never fully explained why she opposes flouride, exactly, even though it is established that it is good for dental health. She was at variance with members of the assembly on this as she has been on other issues.
While another member of the Assembly suggested opponents of the measure were worried about the financial implications of fluoridation, the Review-Journal reported: “Angle said she simply does not like …

Gawker shows how conservatives think soccer is un-American. Matthew Philbin at the Media Research Center complains about how the liberal media is forcing “soccer’s square peg in the round hole of American culture.” The evil liberal media is forcing soccer down our throats as Obama is forcing socialism.
…the media are already doing their best to hype it, overstating its popularity in the United States and its potential appeal to U.S. sports fans.
…
The liberal media have always been uncomfortable with “American exceptionalism” – the belief that the United States is unique among nations, a leader and a …

House Majority Whip James Clyburn of South Carolina calls his party’s Senate candidate to run against incumbent Republican Jim DeMint “a plant.”
Greene admits he had no campaign headquarters, no party support, no contributions, no job, no computer and no cell phone.
Yet, somehow, he managed to pull off the most unlikely of victories, and — unless state Democratic Party officials have their way — will face incumbent Republican Sen. Jim DeMint in November.
Greene bested Vic Rawl, a former state legislator and judge, who was expected to win.
Voters also are wondering how the 32-year-old Greene, facing …
