Sharron Angle Walks Away From “Idiot” Reporter

Nevada Senate nominee Sharron Angle was asked by KLAS-TV, Las Vegas reporter Nathan Baca to defend some of her previously stated positions on Social Security, the EPA, and her advocacy of the United States pulling out of the UN. Angle walked away after that last question. Angle’s campaign then referred to Baca as “an idiot.”
The reaction from the Angle campaign was swift. A campaign spokesperson called Nathan Baca “an idiot” and another term that can’t be repeated. The campaign spokesman did say he would detail Angle’s positions, but he refused to answer on camera.

On my radio show tonight, former Congressman John Kasich – the Republican candidate for Ohio governor - passed on an easy opportunity to court his state’s fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Unlike his opponent, Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland, Kasich says he won’t be “singing in any chorus for LeBron James.”
Here’s what Kasich had to say about the NBA star’s future in Cleveland:

A new AP-Gfk poll shows the public is moving toward a more favorable view of President Obama’s health care overhaul.
The results now: 45 percent in favor, 42 percent opposed. That’s a significant shift in public sentiment considering that opposition hit 50 percent after Obama signed the health plan into law in late March and that in May, supporters were outnumbered 39 percent to 46 percent.
…
The poll found support increased since May among men (from 36 percent to 46 percent), people in their prime working years (from 35 percent to 49 percent among 30-49 year-olds) and Republicans (from …

“I am the best candidate for the United States Senate in South Carolina,” he says, hitting his talking points, as he is apt to do. “And I am also the best person to be TIME magazine’s Man of the Year.”…

A couple months ago, it was a political certainty that Republicans would make strong gains in both the House and Senate in the November elections. Today, however, the GOP and entire conservative movement is working on perhaps the most incredible bit of mass political suicide this side of Gary Hart.
Since the British Petroleum Deep Horizon oil well exploded – taking the lives of 11 BP workers and leveling mass destruction on the Gulf of Mexico – Republicans have been unable to contain themselves. Even as oil destroys wildlife, jobs, lives and the Gulf, Republicans have …

Did you have a problem with President Obama’s speech from the Oval Office the other night?
Well, maybe you should have studied a bit harder.
According to Paul J.J. Payack, president of Global Language Monitor, the speech was written to a 9.8 grade level. Payack said Obama’s 19.8 words per sentence, “…added some difficulty for his target audience.”
Maybe this is why the Sarah Palins and Michele Bachmanns of the world are really connecting with Americans. Just about everything …

Alabama Republican Jeff Sessions, ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee in implicating Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan in the creation of an Islamic studies center at Harvard while she was Dean of Harvard Law.
Around the same time that Dean Kagan was campaigning to exclude military recruiters, citing what she saw as the evils of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, Harvard University accepted $20 million from a member of the Saudi royal family to establish a center for Islamic studies and law. The Obama State Department report concerning Saudi Arabia noted “under Shah Reyarks [sic from transcript] as interpreted by …

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann says the oil victim escrow fund amounts to a “redistribution of wealth.” Speaking to the conservative Heritage Foundation before the president’s Tuesday night speech, she opined:
The president just called for creating a fund that would be administered by outsiders, which would be more of a redistribution-of-wealth fund. And now it appears like we’ll be looking at one more gateway for more government control, more money to government. If there is a disaster, why is it that government is the one who always seems to benefit after a disaster, and that’s of course what …

BP Chairman Carl-Eric Svanberg, having just met with President Obama, worked to impress America with how they “care about the small people.” BP spokesman Toby Odone told the Associated Press that “it is clear that what he means is that he cares about local businesses and local people. This was a slip in translation.” Since Svanberg was talking English, maybe the translation was in his head.
