Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich tells the Associated Press that he will decide in February or March whether to seek the Republican nomination for president, after helping Republican candidates in the midterm elections.

“I’ve never been this serious,” Gingrich said.

“It’s fair to say that by February the groundwork will have been laid to consider seriously whether or not to run,” he said.

Gingrich says he’s convinced that Obama will be a one-term president.
