Shirley Sherrod Pushed Out Of Obama Administraton By Phony Scandal

sherrod_pic_397x224

A video of the Agriculture Department’s now-former director of rural development in Georgia, Shirley Sherrod, speaking to the NAACP, has conservatives up in arms and the Obama administration taking knee-jerk action to dismiss Sherrod.  The video is a short segment of a speech where Sherrod discusses the conflict she had helping a white couple save their farm when so many blacks suffered the same economic distress.

Right-wing blogger Andrew Breitbart made a big deal of this in an effort to defend the tea party against charges of racism and attack the NAACP.  But Breitbat has admitted to Talking Points Memo

Washington Times Portrays Elena Kagan In Turban For Second Time

B4_kagan5_s160x267

An op-ed piece by former Reagan Deputy Defense Secretary Frank Gaffney in the Washington Times in June showed Elena Kagan in a turban next to a column about how she is supposedly sympathetic to Sharia law. Now, Gaffney has written another piece fearing that a Kagan ascension to the court will result in a Sharia law “enabler” in high places. The new alarmism is because Gaffney has breathlessly discovered that Kagan, when Dean of Harvard Law, “twice (once in absentia, the other time in person) awarded the school’s Medal of Freedom to the controversial chief justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Chaudhry. …

BP Used Altered Image Of Command Center

real_HIVE_houston01375

Caught by AmericaBlog, BP put a photoshopped image of its command center to seemingly make it appear more active.

Oddly, BP is now claiming that the photo is real – but it showed blank screens, and rather than show blank screens at AP’s crisis center, they instead put fake content-filled screens in the photo. Uh, a few questions.

BP says it’s all benign.

Scott Dean, a spokesman for BP, said that there was nothing sinister in the photo alteration and provided the original unaltered version. He said that a photographer working for the company had inserted the three …

On LeBron And Loyalty

lebron-james-son-picture

by Stuart Shapiro

Much of the criticism of LeBron James (particularly by Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert) focused on his disloyalty or his betrayal of Cleveland.  Gilbert said to Cleveland fans:

You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

But Harvey Araton, writing in today’s New York Times, rightly notes while describing the New York Knicks decision to not sign popular star, David Lee,  that it is more complicated than that:

The case of Lee, the Knicks’ best and most popular player, should also put into context the allegations of disloyalty against James when he left the Cleveland Cavaliers

Senate Judiciary Committee Approves Elena Kagan SCOTUS Nomination 13-6

elena_kagan_whocares

The Senate Judiciary Committee has approved the nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court 13-6. South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham sided with the Democrats on the panel.

The committee’s seven Republicans tried without success in the last week to obtain a promise from Kagan that she would step aside when the Supreme Court considers a legal challenge to the healthcare overhaul law. During her hearings, Kagan said she would remove herself from cases only if she had worked on them during her time at the Justice Department.…

Palin Endorsement For New Hampshire Senate Race: NH Is Nice This Time Of Year

sarah-palin-thumb

It’s unclear if Sarah Palin wants to be a queen or a queen-maker, but a New Hampshire Senate endorsement from the one-time Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate may or may not help Kelly Ayotte, who is seeking to replace Senator Judd Gregg.

In an endorsement posted on Palin’s Facebook page, the 2008 vice presidential nominee called Ayotte a “Granite State ‘mama grizzly’ who has broken barriers, fought off and locked up criminals, and battled all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to protect the rights of New Hampshire parents — and won!

Two questions: 1. How important …

NH GOP State House Candidate: “It’s Time For White People To Take A Stand”

picture-7355

Ryan Murdough, a Republican candidate for State House in New Hampshire, says he “stands for the interests of white Americans.” (h/t Think Progress)

For far too long white Americans have been told that diversity is something beneficial to their existence. Statistics prove that the opposite is true. New Hampshire residents must seek to preserve their racial identity if we want future generations to have to possibility to live in such a great state. Affirmative action, illegal and legal non-white immigration, anti-white public school systems, and an anti-white media have done much damage to the United States of …

You’re On The Government’s Candid Camera; But Should YOU Be Allowed To Record THEM?

abc_motorcycle_cop_100716_mn

Anthony Graber posted online a video of a plainclothes state trooper cutting him off and drawing a gun when he was stopped for going 80 miles-an-hour, popping a wheelie, and swerving in and out of lanes. The 25-year-old staff sergeant for the Maryland Air National Guard is now facing a possible 16-year jail sentence for capturing his arrest on video.

In early April, state police officers raided Graber’s parents’ home in Abingdon, Md. They confiscated his camera, computers and external hard drives. Graber was indicted for allegedly violating state wiretap laws by recording the trooper without his consent.

“The …
