Paul Krugman: “Facts Do Have A Well-Known Liberal Bias”

In discussing under which administrations the economy did well, those who offered tax cuts and those who didn’t, the facts speak for themselves and, shows Paul Krugman, “have a well-known liberal bias.” Krugman points out the “invincible ignorance” of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Arizona Senator Jon Kyle agreeing that “there’s no evidence that the Bush tax cuts diminished revenue.”

And who in their right mind would describe the Bush economy as “vibrant”, anyway? Even during the peak of the housing bubble, it never achieved the kind of job growth that was routine in the Clinton years.

54 % Of Americans Want Us Out Of Afghanistan

Most Americans want a withdrawal timeline for us to leave Afghanistan according to a new CBS poll.

Today, the poll finds, 62 percent of Americans say the war is going badly, up from 49 percent in May. Just 31 percent say the war in Afghanistan is going well.

Nine years into the war, 33 percent of Americans say they do not want large numbers of U.S. troops in Afghanistan for another year. Twenty-three percent of Americans say they are willing to have troops stay there for one or two more years.

John White, state coordinator or the Iowa Tea Party movement, on one hand says a new billboard put out by the Iowa tea partiers goes too far and that mudslinging should be stopped. And then he says Obama is in “lock step” with Hitler.

Maybe they neglected to read the undisputed testimony of a 13-year-old detailing how Mr. Polanski drugged, raped and sodomized her. Ben Nelson announced today that he is going to vote in favor of cloture on the debate on the financial reform bill on the Senate.

“I will support the Wall Street reform bill to end bailouts, add common sense consumer protections and make sure that Nebraska Main Street businesses are not adversely affected as we rein in recklessness on Wall Street,” Nelson said in a prepared statement.”
