Martin Luther King, Jr. And Alveda King Have Different Dreams

71656

Martin Luther King, Jr’s niece, Alveda King, believes she is upholding her uncle’s legacy.  But was his message about a “womb war,” the inability for gays to marry, and conflating church and state?

Can An All-Conservative Event Be “Non-Political”?

images5

Glenn Beck and the Tea Partiers are at the Lincoln Memorial.  Beck claims his event  is “non-political” but evidence points to it being anything but.

Mr. Beck is billing his three-hour rally as an entirely nonpolitical event, a celebration of the military and a fund-raiser for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. But the timing and location – the very place where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his most famous “I have a dream” speech 47 years ago – make it anything but that.

How “non-political” is this event? Groups supporting it are all conservative.

Fundraising Has Begun For Lower Manhattan Tolerance Center

    Park51Rendition

Sharif El-Gamal, the developer of the tolerance center two blocks from Ground Zero, has begun passing around the tin cup, and it took him just a few minutes to raise $10,000.

[He] announced the start of the funding drive at the conclusion of Friday prayer sessions that have been taking place since last year in the vacant Manhattan clothing store that is to be torn down to make way for the new center.

He said a new nonprofit group had been formed to guide and control the project — a formal step required before the capital campaign could begin.…

AZ Governor Brewer Accuses Obama Of Siding With Cuba And Libya Over Arizona

    Untitled

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer doesn’t like that in the U.S. report to the UN Commissioner for Human Rights, as part of the Periodic Universal Review,  the federal government’s opposition to S.B. 1070 is mentioned. Brewer is appealing to Secretary of State Clinton to have the language removed, calling it “internationalism run amok.”

“The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a State of the United States to ‘review’ by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional.  Human rights as guaranteed by the United States and Arizona Constitutions are expressly protected in S.B. …

To Collect Unemployment, Conservative New Jersey Official Opts To Be Fired Rather Than Resign

    bret-schundler-cropped-proto-custom_2

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie fired his education commissioner, Bret Schundler, after Schundler wouldn’t resign voluntarily. Schundler, the conservative former mayor of Jersey City who had previously run for governor,  told Christie he had tried to give correct information after a bungled question during a hearing on the Race to the Top, which could have netted the state $400 million in school funding.  Christie said that a videotape of the conference did not support Schudler’s explanation.

“I was extremely disappointed to learn that the videotape of the Race to the Top presentation was not consistent with the information provided …

    The Democrats Get One Right

    By James Frye

The Republican Party is nuts.  I know that; you know that.  Do regular, non-politics junkie voters know that?  The Democratic National Committee is going to help them know that.  Steve Benen of The Washington Monthly has the scoop:

With about nine weeks to go before the midterm elections, the DNC is today rolling out what’s likely to be its final message. To summarize, the pitch effectively tells the public: Republicans aren’t just wrong, this year, they’re kind of crazy.

Democrats unveiled [a] video [below], titled “These People Could be in Charge,” this morning, shining a light on …

Mississippi School Reverses Policy That Allowed Only Whites To Be Class President

    100827-Nettleton-Class-Races.grid-8x2

After media exposure about the Nettleton, Mississippi Middle School allowing only whites to run for school class president, the school board has reversed the practice. The school had sent home a memo last week to parents explaining what race you had to be to run for what office.

The memo indicates that only white students can be president of the school’s eighth grade, while only black students can be vice president.

In seventh grade, whites are the only ones who can be both president and vice president, while the only position a black student at Nettleton can apply for in …

The Liberal Conspiracy To Help Radical Islam Take Over America

    empirestatemotherstory

    By Yashwanth Manjunath

The jig is up. Laura Ingraham absolutely nailed it two nights ago while hosting “The O’Reilly Factor” with her cogent analysis of Mike Bloomberg’s hypocrisy on the issue of religious tolerance. There is an enormous ongoing liberal conspiracy to hand over the freedoms we cherish in this country to radical Islam. That’s why Bloomberg supports the right of the Muslims trying to build the Park 51 community center to do with their property what they please. Meanwhile he is against using his power as Mayor to forcefully order the private owner of the Empire State building to …

Drunk Man Urinates On Mosque Prayer Rug

    NY-AF824_MOSQUE_G_20100521215113

A drunk man went into a mosque in Queens, New York, and urinated on a prayer rug.

Evening prayers were disrupted at the Iman Mosque on Steinway Street in Astoria when the unhinged man “came in with a beer bottle in his hands, clearly very intoxicated,” said Mustapha Sadouki, who was attending services.

“He fumbled over to our rugs where people were praying” and then committed the despicable desecration, Sadouki said.

When the cops took him away he stuck up his middle finger and cursed at everyone.…
