The president of the South Carolina Senate, Glenn McConnell, attended a South Carolina Federation of Republican Women event called “The Southern Experience,” dressed up as a Confederate general. If that wasn’t enough, he posed with two African-Americans dressed as slaves.

Tea Party candidate Carl Paladino defeated Rick Lazio to win the GOP nod to run for governor of New York and will face Democrat Andrew Cuomo in November.  This can’t be good for Republicans, given Paladino’s penchant for emailing racially charged and sexually graphic  material.
