They called it “Camelot,” an era that held such promise and inspiration. That era, the presidency of John F. Kennedy, was defined by the word of Ted Sorensen.

Republican long-shot candidate for governor, Carl Paladino, objected to a line of questioning from WCAX-TV’s Kristin Carlson and walked out after a couple of minutes of questioning. As one one expect, the signs at the “Rally to Restore Sanity” headlined by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are much more sane than ones we’ve seen at tea party rallies.

“I hate signs,” said one sign. “Have you seen my keys?” said another.

Slogans urged people to “relax.” But also: “Righties, don’t stomp on my head,” a reference to a Republican rally in Kentucky at which a liberal activist was pulled to the ground and stepped on. And, “I wouldn’t care if the president was Muslim.”
